{"id":20074,"date":"2014-06-09T00:20:37","date_gmt":"2014-06-09T04:20:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/?p=20074"},"modified":"2014-06-09T00:01:38","modified_gmt":"2014-06-09T04:01:38","slug":"corporate-worship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/2014\/06\/09\/corporate-worship\/","title":{"rendered":"Corporate Worship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/SeekingHimLogo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13840\" src=\"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/SeekingHimLogo.jpg\" alt=\"SeekingHimLogo\" width=\"560\" height=\"280\" srcset=\"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/SeekingHimLogo.jpg 560w, https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/SeekingHimLogo-300x150.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Oh, that men would praise the Lord for His goodness<br \/>\nand for His wonderful works to the children of men!<br \/>\nLet them exalt Him also in the congregation of the people<br \/>\nand praise Him in the assembly of the elders.<br \/>\nPsalms 107:31-32<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>From the beginning only God is to be worshipped.<\/p>\n<p>Why do we need to corporately worship?\u00a0Because He commands it and takes it seriously!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">There shall no strange god be in thee neither shalt thou worship any strange god.<br \/>\nPsalm 81:9<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">For you shall worship no other god, for the Lord whose Name is Jealous, is a jealous God.<br \/>\nExodus 34:14<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">This is based on a previous command of false worship in Exodus 20:4-5.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above<br \/>\nor on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth.<br \/>\nYou shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God,<br \/>\nvisiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children,<br \/>\non the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>God deserves it \u2013 100% He deserves it. \u00a0He alone deserves worship&#8212;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>He is The Alpha and the Omega<\/li>\n<li>He is absolutely Holy, Righteous, Just<\/li>\n<li>He is Love<\/li>\n<li>He is our Savior<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Worshipping in spirit and truth flows naturally from faith, love, and trust. \u00a0God deserves it even when we are facing adversaries for He is the same God\u2014He never changes and what He says He will do shall completely come to pass! Therefore worshipping God should be our lifestyle, He deserves it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000; text-align: center;\">And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped Him, saying,<br \/>\nLord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.<br \/>\nAnd Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying,<br \/>\nI will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.<br \/>\nMatthew 8:2-3<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And those in the boat worshipped him, saying, \u201cTruly You are the Son of God.\u201d<br \/>\nMatthew 14:33<\/p>\n<p>You will take note in these Scripture references, some worshipped Jesus for who He was (before He did any miracle); others worshipped Him afterwards.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne<br \/>\nand worship Him who lives forever and ever saying<br \/>\nYou are worthy, O Lord to receive all the glory and honor and power.<br \/>\nRevelation 4:10-11<\/p>\n<p>We need it and the world needs it too. We worship God for it benefits us, anything else we worship doesn\u2019t work out to benefit us and, in fact, brings harm. Others worship their jobs, businesses, food, money, other humans, nature, false gods, etc. It never works out. Stick with worshipping the Perfect Being Who loves you and cares about you. It works out a lot better in the end.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"chapter-2\" style=\"color: #000000;\"><span class=\"text Matt-15-1\">Then some Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus\u00a0from Jerusalem and said,<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NASB-23636\" class=\"text Matt-15-2\">\u201cWhy do Your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they\u00a0do not wash their hands when they eat bread.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NASB-23637\" class=\"text Matt-15-3\">And He answered and said to them,\u00a0<span class=\"woj\">\u201cWhy do you yourselves transgress the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition?<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NASB-23638\" class=\"text Matt-15-4\">For God said, \u2018<span class=\"small-caps\">Honor your father and mother<\/span>,\u2019 and, \u2018<span class=\"small-caps\">He who speaks evil of father or mother is to<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"small-caps\">be put to death<\/span>.\u2019<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NASB-23639\" class=\"text Matt-15-5\">But you say, \u2018Whoever says to\u00a0<i>his<\/i>\u00a0father or mother, \u201cWhatever I have that would help you has been\u00a0given\u00a0<i>to God<\/i>,\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NASB-23640\" class=\"text Matt-15-6\">he is not to honor his father or his mother.\u2019 And\u00a0<i>by this\u00a0<\/i>you invalidated the word of God for the sake of your tradition.\u00a0<\/span>Y<span id=\"en-NASB-23641\" class=\"text Matt-15-7\">ou hypocrites, rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you:<\/span><sup class=\"versenum\" style=\"font-weight: bold;\">\u00a0<\/sup>\u2018<span class=\"small-caps\">This people honors Me with their lips<\/span>,\u00a0<span class=\"small-caps\">But their heart is far away from Me<\/span>.\u00a0\u2018<span class=\"small-caps\">But in vain do they worship Me<\/span>,\u00a0<span class=\"small-caps\">Teaching as<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"small-caps\">doctrines the precepts of men<\/span>.\u2019\u201d \u00a0<span id=\"en-NASB-23644\" class=\"text Matt-15-10\">After Jesus called the crowd to Him, He said to them,\u00a0<span class=\"woj\">\u201cHear and understand.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NASB-23645\" class=\"text Matt-15-11\"><sup class=\"versenum\" style=\"font-weight: bold;\">\u00a0<\/sup><i>It is\u00a0<\/i>not what enters into the mouth\u00a0<i>that<\/i>\u00a0defiles the man, but what proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man.\u201d <span style=\"font-size: 11px;\"><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/span><span id=\"en-NASB-23646\" class=\"text Matt-15-12\">Then the disciples came and said to Him, \u201cDo You know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this statement?\u201d<span style=\"font-size: 11px;\"><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/span><span id=\"en-NASB-23647\" class=\"text Matt-15-13\">But He answered and said,\u00a0<span class=\"woj\">\u201cEvery plant which My heavenly Father did not plant shall be uprooted.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span id=\"en-NASB-23648\" class=\"text Matt-15-14\">Let them alone;\u00a0they are blind guides\u00a0of the blind. And\u00a0if a blind man guides a blind man, both will fall into a pit.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"chapter-2\" style=\"color: #000000; text-align: center;\">Matthew 15:1-14<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>This passage in Matthew 15:1-14 isn\u2019t all about worship, sisters. There can be those that worship in a way that is completely meaningless. Their worship is in vain. Salvation isn\u2019t about worship; it is about faith, trust, love, etc. Worship flows so naturally from these things that many Christians get a bit confused. Let us worship God in spirit and in truth.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #37989e;\">*<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<span style=\"color: #37989e;\">\u00a0~ \u00a0 \u2665 \u00a0 ~\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u271e\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~ \u00a0\u2665 \u00a0 ~ \u00a0 *<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Our dear heavenly Father, we thank You and glorify Your holy Name for there is no other True God besides You. You alone are worthy of all our praise and worship for You are holy, mighty, wonderful, faithful. We pray for the spirit of worship to be awakened in our lives for You deserve it. May our worship be like a sweet aroma to You!
