\u201cWhat has God done for you lately?\u201d<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0 \u00a0Whenever I’ve been asked this question in the past, I thought it was cheesy. \u00a0Why does it matter<\/em> what God has done for me? \u00a0(Or better yet) why do you<\/em> want to know? \u00a0I used to think that my struggles were my struggles, and my victories were my victories, and the things that God did for me…were for me.<\/p>\n

\n

Let them give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love
\nand His wonderful deeds for mankind.
\nLet them sacrifice thank offerings
\nand tell of His works with songs of joy.
\nPsalms 107:21-22<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The answer to my questions are simple.<\/p>\n

SOMEONE NEEDS TO KNOW OR BE REMINDED THAT GOD IS<\/em> ABLE<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves,
\nothers will praise God for the obedience
\nthat accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ,
\nand for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else.
\nAnd in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you,
\nbecause of the surpassing grace God has given you.
\n2 Corinthians 9:13-14<\/p>\n

We can forget sometimes that our God is<\/em><\/strong> able. \u00a0Oh, how we can forget!! \u00a0When bills pile high and the fridge is empty…we can forget. \u00a0When the bank account says $0 and the gas tank is on \u2018E\u2019…we can forget. \u00a0Those are times it’s easy to forget that God is able. \u00a0But hearing about how God provided for a brother or sister can be a quick reminder of our God’s ability and a spirit-lifter.<\/p>\n

When it was time for Elizabeth to have her baby, she gave birth to a son.
\nHer neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown her great mercy,
\nand they shared her joy.
\nLuke 1:57-58<\/p>\n

So. I ask again… \u201cWhat has God done for you lately?\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Thank You, God, for being a God who answers prayers and gives perspective. Thank You for being taller than any mountain we could approach. \u00a0And thank You so much for providing us with sisters and brothers to help nudge us on when we are temporarily dazed by our circumstances. \u00a0What an awesome God we serve. \u00a0Amen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
