When the time came, Jesus willfully, intentionally, purposefully gave up His life. All because of love.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And Jesus cried again with a loud voice and gave up His spirit.<br \/>\nAnd at once the curtain of the sanctuary of the temple was torn<br \/>\nin two from top to bottom; the earth shook and the rocks were split.<br \/>\nThe tombs were opened and many bodies of the saints<br \/>\nwho had fallen asleep in death were raised [to life];<br \/>\nMatthew 26:50-52<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three,<br \/>\nbecause the sun\u2019s light failed. The curtain of the sanctuary was split down the middle.<br \/>\nAnd Jesus called out with a loud voice, \u201cFather, into Your hands I entrust My spirit.\u201d<br \/>\nLuke 23:44-46<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">When it was noon, darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon.<br \/>\nAnd at three Jesus cried out with a loud voice, \u201cEloi, Eloi, lem\u00e1 sabachth\u00e1ni?\u201d<br \/>\nwhich is translated, \u201cMy God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?\u201d<br \/>\nWhen some of those standing there heard this, they said, \u201cLook, He\u2019s calling for Elijah!\u201d<br \/>\nSomeone ran and filled a sponge with sour wine, fixed it on a reed, offered Him a drink,<br \/>\nand said, \u201cLet\u2019s see if Elijah comes to take Him down!\u201d<br \/>\nBut Jesus let out a loud cry and breathed His last.<br \/>\nThen the curtain of the sanctuary was split in two from top to bottom.<br \/>\nMark 15:33-38<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Magnificent, incredible, beautiful acts of nature happened at the very moment of Jesus\u2019 laying down His life and offering Himself as the perfect, spotless Lamb\u2014<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the sky became as dark as night for three hours<\/li>\n<li>the massive (60 foot high and four inches thick) curtain in front of the Holy of Holies in the temple at Jerusalem tore in half from TOP to bottom<\/li>\n<li>the tombs opened and many of the believers were raised to life<\/li>\n<li>there was an earthquake<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There was nothing&#8230;at all&#8230;beautiful about the Cross itself. \u00a0But there is no denying the beautiful awesomeness, the absolute perfection in the events surrounding Jesus&#8217;
