I came to Christ at an early age, but for some reason this truth never <i>really<\/i> sunk in as it should.\u00a0 I heard those five words a little over four years ago, after I married and began to return to worshipping regularly.\u00a0 I thought \u201cThis guy is crazy.\u00a0 He needs to stop telling folks that God is not mad at them. We\u2019ve all sinned. God <i>hates<\/i> sin. How can he tell these people God is not mad?\u201d\u00a0 The man continued to talk about how much God <b>loves<\/b> us.\u00a0 I mean, I knew that. But I began to read in my Bible to get some answers.\u00a0 I needed proof to back up everything I\u2019d learned, right?<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps you\u2019ve heard the same things I did growing up.\u00a0 That my sin placed Jesus on the cross.\u00a0 That every time I sinned I nailed him back up there. We learn guilt and shame and \u201cwe\u2019re not worthy of the blood of Jesus.\u201d \u00a0True. \u00a0We are not worthy. But what does John 3:16 say?\u00a0 \u201cGod so <i>loved<\/i> the world\u2026.\u201d Loved. LOVED the world. Loved the world so much that he <i>gave his Son.<\/i> Not that He was so angry with the world.\u00a0 Not that He was so mad at the world.\u00a0 Not that He was so exasperated that He was forced to send Jesus.\u00a0 Nope.\u00a0 LOVE.\u00a0 It took me a while to come to grips with that truth, to be honest. I had to pray about it. I needed God to help me break some strongholds of religion and denomination and come to grips with what<strong><em> The Word<\/em><\/strong> said.\u00a0 Can you understand what I\u2019m saying?\u00a0 You want a pure relationship with God?\u00a0 You need to allow Him to break down your barriers to his unbelievable, unfathomable, supernatural, all-powerful, relentless love for you. \u201cYeah, but you don\u2019t know\u2026.\u201d I can hear those wheels turning in your head.\u00a0 So can God.\u00a0 Sorry, friend. God is bigger than your objections. HE. LOVES. YOU.<\/p>\n<p>He loves you so much that He GAVE His Son in your place. It\u2019s called the \u201cdivine exchange.\u201d \u00a0Jesus took on your garbage so you could have the good stuff. MANY books have been written on the topic.\u00a0 If you\u2019d like some awesome reading, I will suggest \u201c<em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Bought with Blood<\/span><\/em>\u201d by Derek Prince. With Scripture it shows you exactly what Jesus took in our place when He died for us, and what we receive in return.\u00a0 I could seriously be here all day talking about what happened on the Cross, but here\u2019s a <em>teaser,<\/em> so that you can allow God to show you Himself:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jesus was punished that we might be forgiven<\/li>\n<li>Jesus was wounded that we might be healed<\/li>\n<li>Jesus was made sin with our sinfulness that we might be made righteous with His righteousness<\/li>\n<li>Jesus tasted death for us that we might share His life<\/li>\n<li>Jesus was made a curse that we might receive the blessing<\/li>\n<li>Jesus endured our poverty that we might share His abundance<\/li>\n<li>Jesus bore\u00a0our shame that\u00a0we might share His glory<\/li>\n<li>Jesus endured my rejection that I might have His acceptance with the Father<\/li>\n<li>He was cut off that we might be joined to the Lord<\/li>\n<li>Our <em>old man<\/em> was put to death in Him that the<em> new man<\/em> might come to life in us<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Hallelujah!\u00a0 This is why I love this song \u2013 it reminds me of how AWESOME God is and how deeply Jesus loves us. \u00a0&#8220;Jesus, I DO sing for all that You\u2019ve done for me!&#8221; \u00a0Friend, let me tell you today: <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><em>God is<strong> not mad<\/strong> at you<\/em><\/span>.\u00a0 God <strong><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">loves<\/span><\/em><\/strong> you.\u00a0 Don\u2019t believe me?\u00a0 Ask Him to show you, just like I did.\u00a0 Believe Him when He shows you.\u00a0 Then watch what unfailing love can do in YOUR life!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Who breaks the power of sin and darkness?
