It is also a time to consider what Jesus said and did; and how we should be living in light of His Words. \u00a0\u271e \u2665<\/p>\n<p>During this season, here on the\u00a0<strong><em>Seeking Him<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0devotional blog, we have chosen to focus our devotionals on Jesus\u2019 instructions and admonition communicated in Matthew chapter 5\u2014the Beatitudes. \u00a0Jesus said, \u201cBlessed are\u2026\u201d and He went on to give instruction as to how to be \u201c<em>blessed<\/em>.\u201d \u00a0To be \u2018blessed\u2019 is to \u2018be happy, or to be envied.\u2019 \u00a0 Truly for the Christian, we ARE blessed\u2014oh, how very blessed we are! \u00a0Those who observe our lives should clearly be able to tell that we ARE blessed\u2014and that we KNOW it! \u271e \u2665<\/p>\n<p>Please consider Jesus\u2019 instructions along with us. \u00a0We pray that our words will encourage you and spur you on to be prepare your hearts for the joyous celebration of His Resurrection! \u00a0\u271e \u2665<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Matthew 5:5<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #278486;\">* ~\u00a0\u2665\u00a0~<strong>\u00a0\u271e<\/strong>\u00a0~\u00a0\u2665~ *<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #278486;\">You\u2019re blessed when you\u2019re content with just who you are\u2014no more, no less. \u00a0That\u2019s the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can\u2019t be bought.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #278486;\">Matthew 5:5<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Humility<\/em><\/strong>&#8230;this is one of those words church people say alot, but sometimes don&#8217;t understand. \u00a0I can see why when there are verses like Philippians 2:3 in the Bible.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit,<br \/>\nbut with humility of mind<br \/>\nregard one another as more important than yourselves.<\/p>\n<p><em>Humility<\/em> is definitely something I struggled with at first and I&#8217;m still learning how to live this out. \u00a0The Message Translation (in Matthew 5:5)\u00a0explains it as being \u201ccontent with who you are\u2014no more, no less.\u201d \u00a0According to Philippians 2:8, Jesus was an example of humility when He &#8220;&#8230;humbled Himself and became obedient to death\u2014even death to the cross!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I like to think of <em>humility<\/em> as accepting myself just the way I am this very minute; and understanding that, although I may not be perfect, I am loved and adored by the Most High&#8230;and if God can love me, then I can love me. \u00a0<em>Humility<\/em> to me is looking at another person, whether they be a murderer, thief, or liar (all of which are sins), and understanding that I am no better than they are. \u00a0They sin and I sin&#8230;and a sin is a sin. \u00a0Paul makes this concept simple in Romans 3:23 and 24:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">For ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,<br \/>\nand are justified FREELY by His grace<br \/>\nthrough the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.<\/p>\n<p>When we see others who sin, our thoughts shouldn&#8217;t consist of &#8220;Oh, at least<span style=\"color: #278486;\"><em><strong> I<\/strong> <\/em><\/span>don&#8217;t do that,&#8221; and we shouldn&#8217;t think of one sin as worse than another. \u00a0Instead we should be concerned with whether they have heard the gospel and if they know the awesome Savior, Jesus Christ. \u00a0And if they do? Great! \u00a0And so we should&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.<br \/>\nHebrews 10:24<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t be so harsh with your brothers and sisters in Christ. \u00a0None of us are perfect, and although we may (or may not) strive to be perfect ambassadors for Christ, we all make mistakes. \u00a0One of my favorite verses (Proverbs 24:16) is, \u201cFor a righteous man falls seven times, and he rises again&#8230;.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A perfect example of <em>humility<\/em> is shown in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Luke%207%3A36-50&amp;version=ESV;NIV\" target=\"_blank\">Luke 7:36-50<\/a>. \u00a0This passage tells the story of Jesus being anointed by a sinful woman. \u00a0This woman knew who she was. \u00a0She knew who she needed, as well. \u00a0She could have looked at herself and felt that she was unworthy or &#8220;too&#8221; immoral\/sinful; but she <em>humbled<\/em> herself and approached Jesus. The Pharisees, of course, looked down on this woman and criticized Jesus for allowing her to touch Him.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #278486;\"><em>Jesus is willing to accept all&#8230;all can humbly approach His throne.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Thank You, Lord for loving me. \u00a0I am so thankful that I can do nothing to make You love me more or less\u2014I am loved! \u00a0It&#8217;s just that simple. \u00a0Help me to remember not to complicate the love You give me. \u00a0In Jesus\u2019 name, Amen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; We have now entered the season of Lent. \u00a0For many Christians, Lent is taken as a time of preparation for the celebration of Easter where God miraculously redeemed mankind by resurrecting His Son from the dead.
