It is also a time to consider what Jesus said and did; and how we should be living in light of His Words. \u00a0\u271e \u2665<\/p>\n<p>During this season, here on the\u00a0<strong><em>Seeking Him<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0devotional blog, we have chosen to focus our devotionals on Jesus\u2019 instructions and admonition communicated in Matthew chapter 5\u2014the Beatitudes. \u00a0Jesus said, \u201cBlessed are\u2026\u201d and He went on to give instruction as to how to be \u201c<em>blessed<\/em>.\u201d \u00a0To be \u2018blessed\u2019 is to \u2018be happy, or to be envied.\u2019 \u00a0 Truly for the Christian, we ARE blessed\u2014oh, how very blessed we are! \u00a0Those who observe our lives should clearly be able to tell that we ARE blessed\u2014and that we KNOW it! \u271e \u2665<\/p>\n<p>Please consider Jesus\u2019 instructions along with us. \u00a0We pray that our words will encourage you and spur you on to be prepare your hearts for the joyous celebration of His Resurrection! \u00a0\u271e \u2665<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #378b94;\"><strong>Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. <\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #378b94;\"><strong>Matthew 5:5<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">This verse brings to my mind many old sayings that I heard as a child&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cDo unto others as they would unto you.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cTurn the other cheek.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cThe early bird gets the worm.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">There are so many others that I learned, but it is the first two that pop into my mind when looking at Matthew 5:5. \u00a0To be<span style=\"color: #378b94;\"><strong><em> meek<\/em> <\/strong><\/span>is to\u00a0<em>fear God and obey His Word<\/em>. \u00a0It is to live for Him. \u00a0It is already knowing that when Jesus returns that it will be God\u2019s children who will inherit the earth. \u00a0They will receive the full blessings of God and Jesus when they step into God\u2019s Presence for eternity. \u00a0We receive blessings here on earth but, as children of God, the blessings will be greater and throughout eternity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">In today\u2019s world it is hard to be meek. There are many temptations in this world. With our busy lives it is hard sometimes to separate the world from our godly lives. \u00a0However, there are ways to bring the two together\u2014<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left; padding-left: 30px;\">&#8211; \u00a0live in the world but don\u2019t be of the world.<br \/>\n&#8211; \u00a0live as if this is just a stop on a long trip home<br \/>\n&#8211; \u00a0live as if we are already directly standing before God.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth:<br \/>\nand the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.<br \/>\nIsaiah 65:17<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">By being God\u2019s children, we will see the new heavens and the new earth when Jesus returns. \u00a0If we are <span style=\"color: #378b94;\"><em><strong>meek,<\/strong><\/em><\/span> we are obeying God. \u00a0We are living for God. \u00a0When we come into God\u2019s presence, we will forget about the old earth and what it is like now. \u00a0We will live in God\u2019s glory and worship Him on the new earth. \u00a0We will be living with Him for eternity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">We should live our lives here on earth as if we are already living in God\u2019s glory. \u00a0This is one definition of being <span style=\"color: #378b94;\"><em><strong>meek<\/strong> <\/em><\/span>in God\u2019s eyes. \u00a0Those who serve God will be eternally blessed upon the return of Christ. \u00a0This old world will die away, and just like a person being reborn, the earth will be made anew and the old forgotten. \u00a0We should be exemplifying this to the world.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #378b94;\">* ~\u00a0\u2665\u00a0~<strong>\u00a0\u271e<\/strong>\u00a0~\u00a0\u2665~ *<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for welcoming me into Your family. \u00a0By being obedient to You and following Your direction, I am being (at least in one way) meek. \u00a0Please stand by me as I live for Your glory and try to be a good example for others. \u00a0In Jesus\u2019 name, Amen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We have now entered the season of Lent. \u00a0For many Christians, Lent is taken as a time of preparation for the celebration of Easter where God miraculously redeemed mankind by resurrecting His Son from the dead.
