It is also a time to consider what Jesus said and did; and how we should be living in light of His Words. \u00a0\u271e \u2665<\/p>\n<p>During this season, here on the\u00a0<span style=\"color: #417176;\"><strong><em>Seeking Him<\/em><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0devotional blog, we have chosen to focus our devotionals on Jesus\u2019 instructions and admonition communicated in Matthew chapter 5\u2014the Beatitudes. \u00a0Jesus said, \u201cBlessed are\u2026\u201d and He went on to give instruction as to how to be \u201c<em>blessed<\/em>.\u201d \u00a0To be \u2018blessed\u2019 is to \u2018be happy, or to be envied.\u2019 \u00a0 Truly for the Christian, we ARE blessed\u2014oh, how very blessed we are! \u00a0Those who observe our lives should clearly be able to tell that we ARE blessed\u2014and that we KNOW it! \u271e \u2665<\/p>\n<p>Please consider Jesus\u2019 instructions along with us. \u00a0We pray that our words will encourage you and spur you on to be prepare your hearts for the joyous celebration of His Resurrection! \u00a0\u271e \u2665<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #3e7a78;\">Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: #3e7a78;\"> Matthew 5:4<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To <strong><span style=\"color: #3e7a78;\">mourn<\/span><\/strong> is\u2014<br \/>\n1. to grieve over our own weakness in relation to God&#8217;s standard of righteousness and His kingdom power.<br \/>\n2. It is also to mourn over the things that grieve God, to have our feelings in sympathy with the feelings of God, and to be afflicted in our spirits over the sin (Acts 20:19).<\/p>\n<p>So <span style=\"color: #3e7a78;\"><em>those who mourn are comforted<\/em><\/span> by receiving from the Father \u201crighteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit\u201d (Romans 14:17).<\/p>\n<p>Paul told the Christians in Rome, &#8220;Weep with those who weep&#8221; (Romans 12:15). Disciples face sadness for many reasons. \u00a0Discipleship is not about always being happy. \u00a0It&#8217;s about following the path of Jesus who was &#8220;a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief&#8221; (Isaiah 53:3). \u00a0He surrendered His rights to bless others. \u00a0He surrendered His life to forgive the very ones crucifying Him. \u00a0He saw through the facades of His culture and felt the real needs of people whether they were ill, possessed, or simply blind to the truth.<\/p>\n<p>To be a Christian\u2014a disciple of Jesus\u2014means to care about people, their problems, and to &#8220;weep with those who weep.&#8221; But such <em><span style=\"color: #3e7a78;\">mourning means comfort.<\/span><\/em> Our sufferings, hardships, and struggles will melt away in the eternal light of God&#8217;s Presence and His grace. \u00a0Our heartbreak for those broken in our world will be replaced with rejoicing when many we have loved join us at God&#8217;s side eternally. \u00a0Those who <em><span style=\"color: #3e7a78;\">mourn<\/span><\/em>\u2014who are deeply sad\u2014they will be comforted!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #3e7a78;\">Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who is full of mercy.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #3e7a78;\"> He is the God of all comfort. He comforts us every time we have trouble,<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #3e7a78;\"> so that we can comfort other people any time they have trouble.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #3e7a78;\"> We can comfort them with the same comfort that God gives us.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #3e7a78;\"> We share in the many sufferings of Christ.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #3e7a78;\"> In the same way, much comfort comes to us through Christ.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #3e7a78;\"> 2 Corinthians 1:3-5<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">* ~ <span style=\"color: #449091;\">\u2665\u00a0<\/span>~<strong>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #449091;\">\u271e<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0~<span style=\"color: #449091;\"> \u2665<\/span>~ *<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">God of comfort, we thank You for You comfort us when grieved and when mourning.
