He touched me <\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">And oh, the joy that floods my soul <\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Something happened and now I know <\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">He touched me and made me whole<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Since I met this blessed Savior <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\">Since He cleansed and made me whole <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\">I will never cease to praise Him <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\">I\u2019ll shout it while eternity rolls<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\">~ \u00a0<em>Sing this song with me as our prayer and worship today<\/em>. \u00a0~<\/h4>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/4aO1ge8ASZQ\" height=\"315\" width=\"420\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe>)<\/center><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Performed by Elvis Presley and The Jordanaires<br \/>\nSongwriters: Gaither, Youmans, Rose, Eliscu<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\">* ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Can you even begin to imagine touching Jesus or being touched by Him? \u00a0Even now, my eyes well up with tears at the very thought! \u00a0&#8220;Oh! the joy&#8230;&#8221; \u00a0But here is the Truth: physically touched by or touching Jesus was never the determining factor of healing in any of the Gospel records. \u00a0<em>What was needful was <span style=\"color: #800080;\">faith<\/span><\/em>. \u00a0Listen to this record of faith:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">And behold, a woman who had suffered from a flow of blood for twelve years<br \/>\ncame up behind Him and touched the fringe of His garment;<br \/>\nFor she kept saying to herself, If I only touch His garment, I shall be restored to health.<br \/>\nJesus turned around and, seeing her, He said, Take courage, daughter!<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800080;\"><em>Your faith has made you well<\/em><\/span>.<br \/>\nAnd at once the woman was restored to health.<br \/>\nMatthew 9:20-22<\/p>\n<p>This is such an inspiring account recorded in the Gospels. Picture this for a moment&#8212;a day or two in the life of our Lord: He had been teaching the crowds over on the other side of the Galilean Sea. \u00a0What He shared that day we know as the <em>Sermon on the Mount<\/em>. \u00a0(Great, incredible, life-changing truths He taught them!) \u00a0He came down the mountain, \u201cand great crowds followed Him\u201d (chapter 8, verse 1). \u00a0Amongst the people Jesus would encounter this day were folks who were waiting for Jesus\u2019 \u201ctouch.\u201d \u00a0They had faith that He would and could make them whole&#8230;physically, and mentally.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A leper (verses 2 and 3)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">And a leper came to Him and bowed down before Him, and said, \u201cLord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.\u201d<br \/>\nJesus stretched out His hand and touched him, saying, \u201cI am willing; be cleansed.\u201d And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A centurion (verses 5-13)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">A centurion came to Him, imploring Him, and saying, \u201cLord, my servant is lying paralyzed at home, fearfully tormented.\u201d Jesus said to him, \u201cI will come and heal him.\u201d<br \/>\nBut the centurion said, \u201cLord, I am not worthy for You to come under my roof, but just say the word, and my servant will be healed. For I also am a man under authority, with soldiers under me; and I say to this one, \u2018Go!\u2019 and he goes, and to another, \u2018Come!\u2019 and he comes, and to my slave, \u2018Do this!\u2019 and he does it.\u201d<br \/>\nNow when Jesus heard this, He marveled and said to those who were following, \u201cTruly I say to you, I have not found such great faith with anyone in Israel. I say to you that many will come from east and west, and recline at the table with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven; but the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.\u201d<br \/>\nAnd Jesus said to the centurion, \u201cGo; it shall be done for you as you have believed.\u201d And the servant was healed that very moment.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Peter and his mother-in-law (verses 14 and 15)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">And when Jesus entered Peter\u2019s house, he saw his mother-in-law lying sick with a fever; He touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she rose and served Him.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>His disciples (verses 24-26)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being covered with the waves; but Jesus Himself was asleep. And they came to Him and woke Him, saying, \u201cSave us, Lord; we are perishing!\u201d<br \/>\nHe said to them, \u201cWhy are you afraid, you men of little faith?\u201d Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it became perfectly calm.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A paralytic man and his friends (chapter 9, verses 2-7)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">And they brought to Him a paralytic lying on a bed. Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralytic, \u201cTake courage, son; your sins are forgiven.\u201d And some of the scribes said to themselves, \u201cThis fellow blasphemes.\u201d<br \/>\nAnd Jesus knowing their thoughts said, \u201cWhy are you thinking evil in your hearts? Which is easier, to say, \u2018Your sins are forgiven,\u2019 or to say, \u2018Get up, and walk\u2019?<br \/>\nBut so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins\u201d\u2014then He said to the paralytic, \u201cGet up, pick up your bed and go home.\u201d And he got up and went home.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A synagogue official (verses 18 and 19)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">While He was saying these things to them, a synagogue official came and bowed down before Him, and said, \u201cMy daughter has just died; but come and lay Your hand on her, and she will live.\u201d Jesus got up and began to follow him, and so did His disciples.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>But wait, on their way to the centurion&#8217;s home, an ailing woman (verses 20-22)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">And behold, a woman who had suffered from a flow of blood for twelve years came up behind Him and touched the fringe of His garment; For she kept saying to herself, If I only touch His garment, I shall be restored to health. Jesus turned around and, seeing her, He said, Take courage, daughter! Your faith has made you well. And at once the woman was restored to health.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Back to the official and his daughter&#8230;(verses 23-25)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">And when Jesus came to the ruler\u2019s house and saw the flute players and the crowd making an uproar and din, He said, Go away; for the girl is not dead but sleeping. And they laughed and jeered at Him. But when the crowd had been ordered to go outside, He went in and took her by the hand, and the girl arose.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Two blind men (verses 27-30)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">As Jesus passed on from there, two blind men followed Him, shouting loudly, Have pity and mercy on us, Son of David! When He reached the house and went in, the blind men came to Him, and Jesus said to them, Do you believe that I am able to do this? They said to Him, Yes, Lord.<br \/>\nThen He touched their eyes, saying, According to your faith and trust and reliance [on the power invested in Me] be it done to you; And their eyes were opened.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A man unable to speak (verses 32-33)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Behold, a dumb man under the power of a demon was brought to Jesus. And when the demon was driven out, the dumb man spoke;<\/p>\n<p>Each of these people had observed or heard of \u2018this Jesus,\u2019 and quite obviously had determined in their minds that they COULD and WOULD receive healing from him. \u00a0We know that the woman who suffered from hemorrhages kept encouraging herself by saying, \u201cIf I only touch His garment, I shall be restored to health.\u201d \u00a0Note that she never voiced this; Jesus never heard her say this. He knew her heart and her need&#8230;and He knew her faith. \u00a0And when He turned to her, He told her that her \u201c&#8230;faith has made you well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jesus is the same today! \u00a0He is the same to us! \u00a0He knows our need. \u00a0He knows when we have faith. \u00a0He <strong>touches<\/strong> us with His grace, His blessings, His healing. \u00a0He <strong>touches<\/strong> us when we had given up hope! \u00a0He <strong>touched<\/strong> us when we were dead in our trespasses and sins. \u00a0He <strong>touched<\/strong> us when we were lost and in need of a Shepherd. \u00a0He <strong>touched<\/strong> us when we thought that we were so far gone that nothing and no one would ever want us! \u00a0<em>He <strong>touched<\/strong> us&#8230;and made us whole<\/em>!<\/p>\n<p>It is just as the song goes, \u201cHe touched me&#8230;oh, He touched me! And oh! the joy that floods my soul! \u00a0Something happened, and now I know&#8212;He touched me and made me whole!\u201d \u00a0Let\u2019s shout it now&#8230;and, when He returns, we will be able to \u201cshout it while Eternity rolls!\u201d \u00a0Amen?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Shackled by a heavy burden \u2018neath a load of guilt and shame Then the hand of Jesus touched me and now I am no longer the same He touched me, oh!
