{"id":17903,"date":"2014-02-18T00:05:26","date_gmt":"2014-02-18T05:05:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/?p=17903"},"modified":"2014-02-17T23:48:07","modified_gmt":"2014-02-18T04:48:07","slug":"christlife-twentyseven-new-altogether","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/2014\/02\/18\/christlife-twentyseven-new-altogether\/","title":{"rendered":"CHRISTLife &#8212; TwentySeven: New Altogether"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/cl-new-altogether.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-17891\" alt=\"cl new altogether\" src=\"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/cl-new-altogether.jpg\" width=\"483\" height=\"359\" srcset=\"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/cl-new-altogether.jpg 483w, https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/cl-new-altogether-300x222.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 483px) 100vw, 483px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Truth contained in that Scripture is now more clear to me than ever before! \u00a0Surely I am not the only one to be having these moments of clarity and revelation? \u00a0 If I was a cartoon character, I would have a little bubble over my head with the words \u201cOh! \u00a0Yes! \u00a0Now I understand! \u00a0Thank You, Lord!!!\u201d \u00a0Truly, for so long, I have walked around endeavoring to renew my mind&#8230;I have! \u00a0Really! \u00a0But it has been such <em>work<\/em> because I was not keeping this Truth as my motivation. \u00a0The \u2018cart before the horse\u2019 syndrome. \u00a0No longer! \u00a0I have seen the light! \u00a0Since I have put on the new self, I am \u201c<span style=\"color: #35c9c9;\"><em>being renewed in knowledge according to the image of &lt;my&gt; Creator.<\/em><\/span>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Oh, the Lord does encourage us&#8230;He motivates us&#8230;and spurs us on. \u00a0And really all that is ours to do is s<strong>imply believe Him<\/strong> and <strong>take Him at His Word<\/strong>. We CAN count on His Word being true.<\/p>\n<p>Here are a few statements of Truth about who we are in the newness that Christ has made available to every believer.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>new attitude of mind (Ephesians 4:23)<\/li>\n<li>new heart (Ezekiel 36:26)<\/li>\n<li>new spirit (Ezekiel 11:17)<\/li>\n<li>new nature (Colossians 3:10)<\/li>\n<li>new heritage (Galatians 3:28)<\/li>\n<li>new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17)<\/li>\n<li>new birth (1 Peter 1:3 and 4)<\/li>\n<li>new self (Ephesians 4:24)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If God says we have all these things&#8230;then we do. \u00a0Mrs. Myers writes: &#8220;&#8230;you may sometimes think to yourself, \u2018Well, that\u2019s just not true of me, even though I &lt;do&gt; belong to Christ.\u2019&#8221; \u00a0(Anyone else?) \u00a0Perhaps I have shared that mindset in the past. \u00a0But now, I no longer do. \u00a0<span style=\"color: #35c9c9;\"><em><strong>I AM who God says I am!<\/strong><\/em><\/span> (And y.o.u. are, too!)<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self. You are being renewed in knowledge according to the image of your Creator.<br \/>\nIn Christ there is not Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, slave and free; but Christ is all and in all.<br \/>\nTherefore, God\u2019s chosen ones, holy and loved, put on heartfelt compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, accepting one another and forgiving one another if anyone has a complaint against another. Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you must also forgive.<br \/>\nAbove all, put on love\u2014the perfect bond of unity. And let the peace of the Messiah, to which you were also called in one body, control your hearts. Be thankful.<br \/>\nLet the message about the Messiah dwell richly among you, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, and singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Colossians 3:9-17<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>This is quite a list of righteous, holy ways of living! \u00a0Images that God thinks of you&#8230;pictures that reflect the way that Jesus lived\u2014and so can you (me, too)!
