{"id":16834,"date":"2014-01-15T10:45:38","date_gmt":"2014-01-15T15:45:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/?p=16834"},"modified":"2014-01-15T10:45:18","modified_gmt":"2014-01-15T15:45:18","slug":"perfect-diet-exercise","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/2014\/01\/15\/perfect-diet-exercise\/","title":{"rendered":"A Perfect  Diet and Exercise Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.yourfitnessdesigner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/weights.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"weights\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.yourfitnessdesigner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/weights-225x300.jpg\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>Last week, I shared how WE, (me included) as women, can feel we have to be perfect to be \u201cgood\u201d enough.\u00a0\u00a0 Then when <em>perfection<\/em> is not acccomplished, feelings of failure, guilt, and insecurity can happen. \u00a0One of the areas that can be a struggle is the desire to be <b>Healthy and Fit. <\/b>\u00a0There is the mindset that if you are going to be healthy and fit, you must\u00a0have a\u00a0<em>perfect<\/em> diet and exercise program all of the time.<\/p>\n<p>I have seen and worked with many women to create a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.yourfitnessdesigner.com\/\">fitness and food design<\/a> who feel they must look, exercise, and eat <em>perfectly<\/em> 100% of the time.\u00a0 Then when they feel they \u201cslip up\u201d&#8212;they quickly give up. It is an &#8216;all or nothing&#8217; attitude but it is important to remember three things:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Failure teaches how to train, prepare, or eat differently the next time<\/b>. \u00a0Have you ever said, \u201cI blew it, so what is the use?\u201d Instead of giving up, stop and assess how you might do things differently the next time. That would be progress. Learning <a href=\"http:\/\/www.yourfitnessdesigner.com\/Weight_Loss_Teleclass.html\">how to manage food<\/a> is a process.<\/li>\n<li><b>If you feel the need to ALWAYS do it <em>perfectly<\/em>, you may miss out on a memory<\/b>. Being so consumed with diet and exercise may keep you from enjoying those special times for an occasional ice cream with a child. Skipping YOUR workout to go for a light walk with a girlfriend may be more important that day for you emotional well-being than your physical well-being.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.yourfitnessdesigner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/zach-and-icecream.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"zach and icecream\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.yourfitnessdesigner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/zach-and-icecream-224x300.jpg\" width=\"224\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>It does not have to be perfect to be healthy. \u00a0<\/b>Have you ever said, &#8220;I only have 20 minutes today and can\u2019t go to the gym, why bother with exercise?&#8221; \u00a0What could you do in 20 minutes? Some of my best workouts have been in my living room when short on time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.yourfitnessdesigner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/ball-and-weights.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"ball and weights\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.yourfitnessdesigner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/ball-and-weights-300x300.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>What about feeling like you can\u2019t cook everything fresh or \u201corganic\u201d so you opt to eat out?\u00a0 Do you really believe it would be better to eat out than make a semi-homemade meal at home?\u00a0 And who said EVERYTHING had to ALWAYS be FRESH and organic?<\/p>\n<p>Quitting when you think you have not lost enough weight, or your workouts and diet are less than <em>perfect<\/em> is failure. Picking yourself back after a \u201cslip up,\u201d learning from it, and staying consistent will give you results.
