Even our five year old granddaughter said after the Thanksgiving weekend, \u201cWe go back to school tomorrow!?\u201d \u00a0She loves preschool, but she was loving the relaxed time with the family too.<\/p>\n<p>That weekend we also celebrated \u201csomething good,\u201d or should I say \u201csomething(s) good.\u201d We had three family birthdays between the end of October and Thanksgiving that we hadn\u2019t had time to celebrate, so all four celebrations were packed into one day. It was a full and fun day!<\/p>\n<p><strong>The greatest celebration of all,<\/strong> though, is to celebrate the birth of Baby Jesus. Why is the birth of a little baby in a dusty, smelly stable so important that we should celebrate? The answer is in this carol\u2014<span style=\"color: #a70610;\">Jesus is the King born for you and me<\/span>\u00a0!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High.<br \/>\nAnd the Lord God will give to Him the throne of His father David,<br \/>\nand He will reign over the house of Jacob forever,<br \/>\nand of His kingdom there will be no end.<br \/>\nLuke 1:32-33<\/p>\n<p>Jesus came for you and me! He came to rule and reign in our individual lives so that we can be reborn into new life\u2014a living relationship for all eternity with God. I do believe that is worth <em>ringing the bells<\/em> and <em>lighting the Christmas tree<\/em>! \u00a0I do want everyone to say, \u201cHappy birthday, Jesus! \u00a0We remember this is Your birthday.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s make a point of teaching our children and our grandchildren that Christmas isn\u2019t about the gifts under the tree. \u00a0 More importantly, it\u2019s about<strong><em> God\u2019s gift<\/em><\/strong>&#8212;Jesus as King and Savior&#8212;to us.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel,<br \/>\nbecause He has come and has redeemed His people.<br \/>\nHe has raised up a horn of salvation for us\u2026.<br \/>\nLuke 1:68-69<\/p>\n<p>Then let\u2019s teach them that they can give<strong><em> the gift of themselves<\/em><\/strong> to God as they submit their lives to Jesus.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">His mercy extends to those who fear Him, from generation to generation.<br \/>\nLuke 1:50<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; His greatness no one can fathom.<br \/>\nOne generation will commend Your works to another;<br \/>\nthey will tell of Your mighty acts\u2026<br \/>\nThey will celebrate Your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of Your righteousness.<br \/>\nPsalms 146:3-7<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #a70610;\">Come on and ring those bells with me, and light your Christmas tree! <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #a70610;\">JESUS IS OUR REASON TO CELEBRATE!<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Everybody likes to take a holiday Everybody likes to take a rest Spending time together with the family Sharing lots of love and happiness.
