{"id":15938,"date":"2013-11-28T00:01:40","date_gmt":"2013-11-28T06:01:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/?p=15938"},"modified":"2013-11-28T01:18:17","modified_gmt":"2013-11-28T07:18:17","slug":"thanksgiving-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/2013\/11\/28\/thanksgiving-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Thanksgiving"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At this time of year we come upon a day we call \u201c<strong><em>Thanksgiving<\/em><\/strong>.\u201d \u00a0 \u00a0We will play games, watch football, and watch the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Macy\u2019s Thanksgiving Day Parade<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>We will get together with our families and eat (turkey, dressing, cranberry sauce, pumpkin or pecan pie) and much more\u2026yumm\u2026I\u2019m getting hungry already.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes before we begin our meal, everyone in the family will tell one thing they are <em>thankful<\/em> for.\u00a0\u00a0 And then after we are all through eating, playing, talking, checking out ads for Black Friday shopping, everyone proceeds to go home&#8212;with <em>Thanksgiving<\/em> now being just a memory in our minds until next year.<\/p>\n<p>Something we all must ingrain on our hearts and minds is that <em>Thanksgiving<\/em> is not just a one-day-a-year event.<\/p>\n<p><em>Thanksgiving<\/em> is a daily opportunity to speak out and express to God how grateful we are.<\/p>\n<p>The Bible tells us we are to \u201cAlways be joyful. Keep on praying. No matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God\u2019s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus\u201d (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).<\/p>\n<p>When we make <em>thanksgiving<\/em> a daily part of our life we will find that our life is much richer and fuller.\u00a0 When we take time to stop and <em>thank<\/em> God we will find we have a much softer heart, that our relationship with Him will grow, and our desire to spend more time with Him will increase.<\/p>\n<p>One of the all-time best things we can say<em> thanks<\/em> for is to God for giving us His Son to die for our sins and allowing us an opportunity to receive salvation and live with Him forever!<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p align=\"center\">Can I stop here and say \u201c<strong>WOW<\/strong>\u201d, and &#8220;<strong>THANKS!<\/strong>&#8220;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>You can track throughout God\u2019s Word the many times Jesus gave <em>thanks<\/em> to His Father; here are some: (Matthew11:25; \u00a0John 11:41; \u00a0Matthew 15:36; John 6:11; Luke 22:17-20; \u00a01 Corinthians 11:23 and 24). \u00a0\u00a0How many times do <strong>we give <em>thanks<\/em><\/strong> to our Father, Jesus Christ?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0Thanksgiving is not the only day we can say<em> thanks<\/em> to Him.\u00a0 I encourage each of you before your feet hit the floor each morning to sit in your bed\u2026and\u2026<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Speak out to God your daily <em>thanksgivings!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><b><i><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/reLOThf3nVQ\" height=\"315\" width=\"420\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/center><b><i>Let\u2019s Pray:\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Dear God,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I pray that each of us will let \u201c<em>Thanksgiving<\/em>\u201d be a daily prayer not a yearly event.\u00a0 In your name I pray, Amen!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At this time of year we come upon a day we call \u201cThanksgiving.\u201d \u00a0 \u00a0We will play games, watch football, and watch the Macy\u2019s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
