“I will serve You Lord, always for You are my strength…
\nBut I’ll praise You for You are holy, Lord
\nAnd I’ll lift my hands, but You are worthy of so much more….”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

As I listened to the song, \u00a0Life of Praise<\/strong> <\/em>by Casting Crowns, the line “I’ll lift my hands, but You are worthy of so much more<\/strong>!” jumped out at me. \u00a0I, sometimes, lift my hands at church during worship and I serve in the Children’s Ministry. \u00a0However, I got the feeling that the “…so much more…” being referred to here could not be summed up in the amount of serving I do.<\/p>\n

I asked the Lord, “What is this ‘…so much more…’?”<\/p>\n

I compiled a (mini) list of things God is worthy of:<\/p>\n

Glory<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

O Lord , our Lord, Your majestic name fills the earth! \u00a0Your glory is higher than the heavens.
\nPsalm 8:1<\/p>\n

Praise<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Let the godly sing for joy to the Lord ; it is fitting for the pure to praise Him.
\nPsalm 33:1<\/p>\n

Glory<\/em> and praise<\/em> are obvious things that the Lord is worthy of! \u00a0After all, He is<\/span> who He is<\/strong>. I felt a nudge to make this much more personal.<\/p>\n

God is worthy of my:<\/p>\n

Love<\/strong> <\/em>–<\/p>\n

Jesus replied, \u2018You must love the Lord your God with all your heart,
\nall your soul, and all your mind.\u2019
\nMatthew 22:37<\/p>\n

Loyalty –<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Remain in me, and I will remain in you.
\nFor a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine,
\nand you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.<\/p>\n

John 15:4<\/p>\n

Obedience –<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.
\nThough they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.
\nPsalms 37: 23-24<\/p>\n

Trust –<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
\nThey are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm.
\nPsalms 20:7-8<\/p>\n

Complete Devotion<\/strong> <\/em>–<\/p>\n

The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need.
\nHe renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. S
\nSurely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life,
\nand I will live in the house of the Lord forever.
\nPsalms 23:1, 3, 6<\/p>\n

Time<\/strong> <\/em>–<\/p>\n

Her sister, Mary, sat at the Lord\u2019s feet, listening to what he taught.
\nLuke 10:39<\/p>\n

Feel free to add to this “mini” list!<\/p>\n

Ultimately, God is worthy of everything that is in my possession, but being specific helps me to focus on actual areas. \u00a0Vaguely, saying, “I give you my all,” is easy for me. \u00a0When you start to put names to “my all\u201d the obvious question is, \u00a0“Does He still get your everything?”<\/p>\n

Time<\/strong> is a big one for me…I like to spend more time than I should playing endless hours of video games.<\/p>\n

Lord, help me to he a better steward of that which you have blessed with with. Help me to remember that I am meant to bring glory to you.<\/p>\n
