Esther 7:3-4<\/b><\/p>\n

Then Queen Esther answered and said, \u201cIf I have found favor in your sight, O king, and if it pleases the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request.\u00a0For we have been sold, my people and I, to be destroyed, to be killed, and to be annihilated. Had we been sold as male and female slaves, I would have held my tongue, although the enemy could never compensate for the king\u2019s loss.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Redemption.<\/strong><\/em> What is redemption? Well, technically, the following is the definition of the word:<\/p>\n

\n

\u00a0re\u00b7demp\u00b7tion<\/h2>\n

1.\u00a0<\/b>an<\/span>\u00a0act\u00a0of redeeming\u00a0or\u00a0atoning\u00a0for\u00a0a\u00a0fault\u00a0or\u00a0mistake,\u00a0or\u00a0the\u00a0state\u00a0of\u00a0being redeemed. <\/span><\/p>\n

2.\u00a0<\/b>deliverance<\/span>;\u00a0rescue.<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0<\/b>Theology<\/i>.\u00a0deliverance<\/span>\u00a0from\u00a0sin;\u00a0salvation.<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0<\/b>atonement<\/span>\u00a0for\u00a0guilt.<\/p>\n

5.\u00a0<\/b>repurchase<\/span>,\u00a0as\u00a0of\u00a0something\u00a0sold<\/span>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

What does redemption<\/em> mean\u00a0to you? To me, it means being saved or being rescued from something.\u00a0 We all have times in our lives when we need to be redeemed. Some days I feel like I need to be constantly redeemed, constantly saved—sometimes from big things and sometimes from small things, sometimes from things that are my own doing and sometimes from things out of my control.\u00a0 Thankfully, not often do we find ourselves in Esther\u2019s shoes, with our lives needing saving from the hand of a tyrant or the lives of our people on the line.<\/p>\n

Imagine our lives being sold into the hands of someone who hated us simply for existing. \u00a0This man planned to kill us for the price of gold and riches, for power and for bragging rights. Imagine us having to play Esther\u2019s role<\/span>, having to plead for our safety, having to share a secret that could harm us or help us; imagine how vulnerable she felt at that moment.<\/p>\n

Imagine how vulnerable we feel when we have to ask for redemption for whatever reason, when we have to open our heart and mind to Christ when we need saving, when we need redemption. Remember in these times what that vulnerability brings, what this admittance of weakness brings. Remember how close we feel to God, how He wraps His loving arms around us. Remember the price He paid for us<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Yes it was Haman who purchased Esther and her people, but we have to remember who purchased us<\/strong>. \u00a0Who paid the ultimate price for our lives?\u00a0 No matter what or who aims to destroy us, the price that Christ paid can never be matched. The redemption that He offers us can never be replaced or taken away.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s Pray<\/span>:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our Lord and Redeemer,\u00a0 thank You for the price that You paid for us. \u00a0Thank You for the redemption offered and available to us.\u00a0 Whether it was our doing, or the doing of another, You paid the price with Your life. \u00a0Your love reaches further than our pain could ever reach.\u00a0 Your ultimate price could never be matched by the price paid by the Haman\u2019s in our lives. \u00a0In Jesus’ Name we pray.<\/p>\n
