My whole being shall be satisfied…and my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips.
\nWhen I remember You upon my bed and meditate on You in the night watches..
\nFor You have been my help, and in the shadow of Your wings will I rejoice..
\nPsalms 63:5-7<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Take a moment, please, and think back to last night as you laid your weary head down on your pillow…. Did your thoughts turn to praising the Almighty with joyful lips?\u00a0 Did you remember the blessings and mercies and grace that He had given to you throughout the day?\u00a0 Did you meditate and consider how very much He had helped you and guided you?\u00a0 Did you recognize that He had protected you…and did you rejoice?<\/p>\n

I think, for most of us, we DO thank God for the day that has just past.\u00a0 But…then perhaps we get distracted thinking about all that has occurred during the day.\u00a0 We remember conversations \u2014good AND not-so-good.\u00a0 We think about unfinished tasks and projects.\u00a0 We add to the \u2018to-do\u2019 list we carry around in our heads.\u00a0 Maybe we even start worrying over the next day that hasn\u2019t even begun yet.\u00a0 But there is a better idea!\u00a0 Try thinking about:<\/p>\n

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true,
\nwhatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure,
\nwhatever is lovely, whatever is admirable\u2014
\nif anything is excellent or praiseworthy\u2014think about such things.
\nPhilippians 4:8<\/p>\n

So take another moment, please.\u00a0 Think about yesterday….\u00a0 Was there truth?\u00a0 Were things right?\u00a0 Can you remember something lovely that happened?\u00a0 Did a friend do something you admired?\u00a0 Did God\u2019s blessings cause your heart to sing His praises?\u00a0 I venture to say that yes…YES!…there were true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and PRAISEworthy things!!!\u00a0 Thinking about these kind of things will cause us to praise our great God with joyful lips.\u00a0 Remembering\u00a0 the grace and mercy that He gave to us will give us much to meditate upon.\u00a0 Dwelling upon the goodness of our God will lift our heart and we will rejoice!<\/p>\n

Tonight, as you lay your beautiful head down again, sing and speak praises to Your Father!\u00a0 Instead of worry and concern, allow all the truth, the right and lovely, the pure and admirable, the excellent, the praiseworthy things to fill your heart and mind.\u00a0 Give praise to the One Who supplied your needs, Who protected you, Who led you and guided you.\u00a0 Rest, my friend, in the comfort and blessing of His presence…and I am sure you will wake up in the morning, saying as the Psalmist did:<\/p>\n

But I will sing of Your mighty strength and power;
\nyes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy and loving-kindness in the morning;
\nfor You have been to me a defense and a refuge in the day of my distress.
\nUnto You, O my Strength, I will sing praises;
\nfor God is my Defense, my Fortress, and High Tower,
\nthe God Who shows me mercy and steadfast love.
\nPsalms 59:17 and 18<\/p>\n

\u00a0* * * * *<\/p>\n

Almighty God, You are Holy, You are Faithful, You are Sovereign, You are Love!\u00a0 Please help us through Your Holy Spirit to remember to think on the truth, the right and lovely, the pure and admirable, the excellent, the praiseworthy things…and to praise You, Lord!\u00a0\u00a0 Amen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
