I will tell you about the curriculum and resources I am using in my home this school year, and then I hope you will link up your posts that tell about your homeschool curriculum and resource choices for the year.

Rules for the Linky Party

Use the form below to enter your links.

Your post should be about the curriculum & other resources you are using in your home this year.

Link back to Girlfriends Coffee Hour via a text link within your post, or the button you will find below within the post or on your sidebar.

Invite others to link up, and have fun!

My list of books, curriculum, games, & apps

Since my family consists of 5 children from the ages of 2 to 15, we have preschool, elementary, middle school, and high school resources in use in our home every day, as well as when we are out and about. So without further delay, here is my list:

Teaching Textbooks, levels 4, 8, & Geometry~Switching to this curriculum for math has made a huge difference for my daughter in her understanding of concepts. It is also fantastic for parents, as most of the levels are self-grading!

Several of our favorite preschool apps for the iPad include Touch & Say, Doodle Buddy, I Hear Ewe, Squiggles, & Candy Count.

Apologia’s Exploring Creation with Zoology 3~ My youngest son is taking this course via our homeschool co-op so he reads his lessons at home, and then joins the other students each week in fun activities. So far he is loving it!

We are using apps for our iPad with our older children, as well. Stack the States, Grammaropolis, Presidents vs. Aliens, Painless Spellings, as well as Khan Academy and National Geographic, are some of their favorites. There are many, many more available.

We are also using resources such as The Lie: Evolution and The Great Dinosaur Mystery Solved by Ken Ham and classics such as The Last of the Mohicans, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, and The Old Man & the Sea.

Winter Promise, Children Around the World~ As a homechool blogger, I was presented with the opportunity to review this program with my family. We are enjoying our study of cultures and children around the world in a relaxed way with this program

My oldest two children are involved in an advanced art class at our co-op, in which they are using colored pencils and learning various techniques. They have been pursuing their interests in art ever since we began homeschooling in 2006, and love it!

Some of our favorite board games are Apples to Apples, Scrabble, Boggle, Yahtzee, and Sorry!

My youngest son is also taking art this year, marker drawing, and is doing very well with it. I think he feels like he has already accomplished much and has made a lot of progress in his ability.

Painless Grammar~My daughter needed something different for grammar this year, so we went with Painless. So far it has been, well, painless. 😉

The above is not an extensive list. We have many other resources in our home that we also use from time to time, but this gives you an idea of what our days are like.
