He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High <\/strong>
\nwill rest in the shadow of the Almighty. <\/strong>
\nI will say of the LORD, <\/strong>
\n\u2018He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust.\u2019\u00a0 <\/strong>
\nPsalms 91:1-2<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jesus is perfect!\u00a0 He\u2019s our example! He has complete dependence on God!\u00a0 He trusts God!\u00a0 He came to earth to do the will of the Father.<\/p>\n

In Matthew 26, Jesus prayed for God\u2019s will, knowing that He, Jesus, would die very soon on the Cross for the sins of the people of this world.\u00a0 Three times in the garden of Gethsemane, He prayed a prayer like this, requesting God\u2019s will to be done:<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u2018My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me.
\nYet not as I will, but as you will.\u2019
\nMatthew 26:39<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thank You, Jesus, for being our perfect example of following God\u2019s will, even to the point of sacrifice and death.<\/em><\/p>\n

My heart turns to shine a lesser light on a hero of faith\u2014Corrie ten Boom.\u00a0 After being a prisoner in a Nazi camp, she one day came to a place of forgiveness when she saw one of the Ravenbruck Camp guards that had been so cruel to her in another time and place. In her book, Tramp for the Lord<\/i> she tells the story…<\/p>\n

She was slow to forgive, but she prayed. And with this prayer as an act of surrender, she was able to forgive this man who asked for forgiveness.\u00a0 “I forgive you, brother!” I cried,\u00a0 “with all my heart!” For a long moment we grasped each other\u2019s hands, the former guard and the former prisoner. I had never known God\u2019s love so intensely as I did then.<\/p>\n

Although I never have had to endure the horrific things that Corrie ten Boom had to endure, I can truly say that, when I have forgiven someone who has hurt me deeply, it is in that moment <\/i>that I truly understand with a greater depth the immensely great love and forgiveness that Jesus has given to me! And that just makes me want to praise, worship, and adore Him even more!<\/p>\n

Jesus Christ\u2019s words on the Cross toward those who had mistreated Him, as He was hanging there in my place and yours, were these:<\/p>\n

“\u2026Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing\u2026”
\nLuke 23:34<\/b><\/p>\n

Christ loved God; He prayed; He surrendered to God\u2019s will to bring God glory; and forgave others\u2026and so did Corrie ten Boom\u2026and I hope I do as well with each day I am given.<\/p>\n

Can I add your<\/i> name to this list?\u00a0 Is it your heart\u2019s desire to do the will of the Father?\u00a0 Do you trust Him completely\u2014even when you don\u2019t understand some things that seem so hard to endure?<\/p>\n
