Our featured ingredient this week is<span style=\"color: #ff9900;\"> nectarines<\/span>\u2014so good for you!\u00a0\u00a0 And our recipe is for a yummy baked dessert which includes <span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">nectarines<\/span> AND <span style=\"color: #e31c4b;\">raspberries<\/span>.\u00a0\u00a0 This is a classic French dessert (think ala Julia Child) with the fancy French name <strong><i>Clafouti<\/i><\/strong> (cla-foo-tea).\u00a0 \u00a0<em><strong>Clafouti<\/strong><\/em> is a delicious sort-of-cake, sort-of-custard, very light, perfect for summer dessert (but oh-so-simple).\u00a0 \u00a0As typical I have made it gluten free (dairy free, too) but it can also be made with traditional all-purpose flour.\u00a0 You can make<em><strong> clafouti<\/strong> <\/em>with practically any type of ripe, juicy fruit.\u00a0 In the past, we have enjoyed pear, cherry, and blueberry variations.\u00a0\u00a0 You might remember a few weeks ago we had a recipe for Fruit Crisp.\u00a0 These two recipes both feature yummy, ripe, juicy, seasonal fruits but differ in their texture.\u00a0 The Crisp is just that&#8230;a crispy, oatmeal-based topping for the fruit; while this Bake (<em><strong>clafouti<\/strong><\/em>) is more tender and delicate.\u00a0 *** I\u2019d love to know which presentation <strong>your<\/strong> <strong>family<\/strong> enjoys most!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/2013-08-23-11.02.23.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-14266\" alt=\"2013-08-23 11.02.23\" src=\"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/2013-08-23-11.02.23-300x225.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/2013-08-23-11.02.23-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/2013-08-23-11.02.23.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Nectarine-Raspberry Clafouti (Fruit Bake)<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Ingredients<\/span>:<br \/>\n1 tablespoon coconut oil (or butter)\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/2013-08-23-10.06.49.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-14267\" alt=\"2013-08-23 10.06.49\" src=\"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/2013-08-23-10.06.49-300x225.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/2013-08-23-10.06.49-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/2013-08-23-10.06.49.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n3 large ripe <span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">nectarines<\/span><br \/>\n1 (6 ounce) container <span style=\"color: #e31c4b;\">raspberries<\/span><br \/>\n3\/4 cup gluten free all-purpose flour<br \/>\n1 teaspoon baking powder<br \/>\npinch of salt<br \/>\n3 tablespoons agave nectar<br \/>\n2 large eggs<br \/>\n1 cup almond milk<br \/>\n1 teaspoon almond extract<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Directions<\/span>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Preheat oven to 400.<\/li>\n<li>Grease a 1+1\/2 &#8211; 2 quart ceramic baking dish with a small amount of coconut oil (or butter).<\/li>\n<li>Pit the nectarines and then roughly chop.<\/li>\n<li>In a blender container, mix all ingredients except for the fruit \u2018til smooth and foamy, just a minute or so.<\/li>\n<li>Pour about 1\/4&#8243; of batter into the baking dish. Place in oven \u2018til batter looks slightly set (about 2 minutes).\u00a0 Remove from oven.<\/li>\n<li>Add chopped nectarines on top and pour in the balance of the batter;\u00a0 scatter the raspberries on top, pushing them down gently into the batter with your finger.<\/li>\n<li>Put baking dish back into oven; REDUCE HEAT to 350, \u00a0and bake for 45 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>The <em><strong>clafouti<\/strong> <\/em>is done when it has puffed and lightly browned; check by using a thin knife inserted into the center that comes out clean.<\/li>\n<li>Set aside to cool slightly.\u00a0 Can be eaten warm or cold.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Enjoy!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">\u2665\u00a0 \u2665\u00a0 \u2665\u00a0 \u2665\u00a0 \u2665<\/span><\/p>\n<p>God loves you! \u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">\u2665<\/span> \u00a0(Don\u2019t ever forget that!)<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff9900;\">\u2665\u00a0<\/span> coleen<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here on our At Home with GCH blog, Monday\u2019s are always focused on healthy but oh-so-yummy! recipes.\u00a0 We are continuing our series of summer recipes featuring in-season produce.
