Set a guard, O Lord, before my mouth; keep watch at the door of my lips.
\nPsalm 141:3<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Now this is not <\/i><\/b><\/i>the thing to pray AFTER letting a tirade fly out of your mouth!\u00a0 RATHER it should be our\u00a0prayer\u2014perhaps at the opening of each day\u2014before<\/i><\/b><\/i> any words even come out.<\/p>\n

Oh, sometimes it seems that we truly might have been better equipped if our Creator had chosen to give us a zipper for our lips, do you agree?\u00a0 But, He Who knows best, chose to give us mouths to speak AND the responsibility to use our lips, our tongues, our words for blessing not cursing.<\/p>\n

Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, blessing, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing.\u00a0 For \u2018Whoever desires to love life and see good days,
\nlet him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit…\u2019*
\n1 Peter 3:9 and 10<\/p>\n

As in all things that the Lord charges us to do…we are never left alone.\u00a0 He is always helping us.\u00a0 So as we pray asking for His help with these mouths and tongues of ours, we can be assured that He WILL help us!\u00a0 Temptation(s) will come, and sometimes we may feel that we are just going to succumb and sin.\u00a0 But we have the Lord on our side; He is strengthening us.<\/p>\n

[Not in your own strength] for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you [energizing and creating in you the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight.
\nPhilippians 2:13 AMP<\/p>\n

I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
\nPhilippians 4:13<\/p>\n

Today, friends, let\u2019s choose God\u2019s way\u2014and seek His help in guarding our mouths and watching our lips.\u00a0 May we speak blessings<\/strong> <\/em>today!<\/p>\n
