{"id":13634,"date":"2013-07-30T01:00:34","date_gmt":"2013-07-30T05:00:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/?p=13634"},"modified":"2013-07-29T21:46:13","modified_gmt":"2013-07-30T01:46:13","slug":"i-am-chapter-4-day-jesus-is-the-door","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/2013\/07\/30\/i-am-chapter-4-day-jesus-is-the-door\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;I AM&#8221; Chapter 4 &#8211; Day 2: Jesus is The DOOR"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"center\"><b><i>\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<h2 align=\"center\"><b><i>Memory Verse<\/i><\/b><\/h2>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><b><i>I have told you this so that my joy may be in you <\/i><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><b><i>and that your joy may be complete.<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #800080;\">\u00a0<b><i>John 15:11<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">_______________________<\/p>\n<p>We walk through <span class=\"GINGER_SOFATWARE_correct\">doors<\/span> each day. \u00a0We go into the store, into work, and into our homes.\u00a0 If we think about it, we are constantly walking <b><i><a href=\"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/GFCH-Door1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" style=\"margin: 5px;\" alt=\"GFCH-Door\" src=\"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/GFCH-Door1-157x300.jpg\" width=\"157\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/i><\/b>through an entryway of some sort.\u00a0 Those are physical doors with frames we can touch.\u00a0 I have never thought of the Great <strong>I AM<\/strong> as a door. \u00a0I have never fully read the Scriptures that were listed today either.\u00a0 I have to ask myself, &#8216;When I wake up what door do I enter?\u00a0 Am I entering through a door of safety, of security and peace?\u00a0 Am I entering into THE DOOR? \u00a0Or am I entering into the door of the world&#8212;the door of frustration, fear, strife, or of anything else that may be waiting to steal, kill, and destroy?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<b><i>John 10:1-19<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><i>\u00a0\u201cMost assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. \u00a0But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.\u201d Jesus used this illustration, but they did\u00a0not understand the things which He spoke to them.<\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><i>Then Jesus said to them again, \u201cMost assuredly, I say to you, <b>I am the door of the sheep<\/b>. \u00a0All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. <sup>\u00a0<\/sup><b>I am the door<\/b>. \u00a0If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.<\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><i>\u201cI am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. \u00a0But a hireling, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them. The hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep. \u00a0I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. \u00a0As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. \u00a0And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd.<\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><i>\u201cTherefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p><strong>Three times<\/strong>. That\u2019s how many times Jesus had to remind us of who He is to us.\u00a0 That\u2019s how many times He has to remind us that we need Him to guide and direct our lives.\u00a0 <em>And this was just in this chapter!!<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0 I had to ask myself how many times in my life has He had to remind me of this?\u00a0 How many times have I been reminded after I tried other ways, false doors, and wrong turns?<\/p>\n<p>I am a sheep.<\/p>\n<p>I am helpless without Christ.<\/p>\n<p>I walk with my head down and don\u2019t know where I\u2019m going most of the time; I get lost.<\/p>\n<p>I have almost walked off of many cliffs. \u00a0 God\u2019s grace saved me.<\/p>\n<p>I am an easy target.<\/p>\n<p>I am fearful and defenseless.<\/p>\n<p>Without the <strong>I AM<\/strong>, I am without a door. \u00a0I am without access to the life I was meant to live. \u00a0I am susceptible to harm.\u00a0 Without a door, the thief that comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy has an open invitation to my life.<\/p>\n<p>As I was reading today\u2019s lesson these words touched my heart:<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><i>\u201cJesus is <strong>The DOOR<\/strong>.\u00a0 We need to learn how to enter through <strong>The Door.<\/strong>\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0So often in life we ask, &#8216;Which way do I turn?\u00a0 What do I do? \u00a0Who do I turn to?&#8217; \u00a0So often in life we look past\u00a0<strong>The Door<\/strong>\u00a0that is right in front of us&#8230;we try every other door other than <b><i>The <\/i>Door<i>. <\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Teresa asks us this question:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<b>What does it mean to you that Jesus is The DOOR?<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">Truly think about this during the day. \u00a0What does this mean to you?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0_______________________________<\/p>\n<p><strong>Let\u2019s Pray:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dear Heavenly Father,<\/p>\n<p>So many times we search for a way through life. \u00a0So many times we look and look for the direction we are <span class=\"GINGER_SOFATWARE_correct\">to go<\/span> in. \u00a0Thank You, Father, for being our Door. \u00a0Thank You for opening the way to salvation, safety, love&#8230;to the path that You have created for us. Please forgive us for trying other doors, for trying to make our own way.
