{"id":1350,"date":"2012-08-30T05:00:23","date_gmt":"2012-08-30T10:00:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/?p=1350"},"modified":"2013-01-01T20:41:15","modified_gmt":"2013-01-02T01:41:15","slug":"resolution-for-women-mercy-me","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/2012\/08\/30\/resolution-for-women-mercy-me\/","title":{"rendered":"Resolution for Women:  Mercy Me"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>How many times a day or week have you found yourself asking these questions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lord what is it that You want me doing?<\/li>\n<li>What do you require of me today?<\/li>\n<li>What jobs in the church do You want me to serve in?<\/li>\n<li>What ministries can I be of help in?<\/li>\n<li>What church do I need to attend and be a part of?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And wait there is that BIG question that we always get around to asking\u2026\u2026Lord what is Your WILL for my life?<\/p>\n<p>As we learned in today\u2019s lesson God\u2019s answer to His will for us is found in Micah 6:8 .<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><em>\u201cHe <strong>has<\/strong> showed you, O man, what is good.<\/em><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><em>And what does the Lord require of you?<\/em><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><em>To <strong>act justly<\/strong> and to <strong>love mercy<\/strong> and to <strong>walk humbly<\/strong> with your God\u201d<\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In this book of the old testament God used Micah to prophesy to the people who had fallen from Him.\u00a0 Amongst the people, there was corruption, idolatry, violence and the belief that personal sacrifice satisfies divine justice.\u00a0\u00a0 Even with all that was going on with these people and the impending judgment for their wickedness, God was still reaching out for the \u201chearts\u201d of His people.<\/p>\n<p>This is the place He has always reached out to capture.\u00a0\u00a0 When someone or something can penetrate our hearts \u201cit sticks\u201d whether it is something good or bad it is in there solid, and in order for God to capture our heart we must allow Him to penetrate it and then we will know His will for us.<\/p>\n<p>In this verse and in your life God has BIG PLANS for you\u2026he said so, so why do we continually ask Him what His will is for us.\u00a0\u00a0 He has told us already\u2026.(act, love, walk)\u2026these are clear visions from His Word of what He wants us doing right now today not in the future, He will take care of the future stuff when He is ready but for now lets do these things that His Word has described for us:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Act justly<\/em> \u2013 God is telling us to do what\u2019s right, so in order to do this we must ask a few questions to ourselves\u00a0 (Do I owe anything to anyone?\u00a0\u00a0 Do I tell the truth?\u00a0\u00a0 Have I treated others as they should be treated?\u00a0\u00a0 Do I have unconfessed sin in my life?\u00a0\u00a0 Am I living a moral life?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So after reading these few questions can we truly say we are acting justly or do we need to mend some things in our life before we can say \u201cyes I do\u201d. \u00a0\u00a0Priscilla stated a woman\u2019s primary interest is seeing justice done, seeking solutions that are fair, reasonable, objective and most importantly \u2013 are expressive of the love of Christ.<\/p>\n<p>Maybe we should sit down and make a list of things we need to make right&#8212;then make them right&#8212;God can\u2019t bless us further until we obey His convictions and change our life to live justly.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Love mercy<\/em> &#8211;\u00a0\u00a0 this means that we must have a hearty interest in doing things that bless and impact others lives.\u00a0\u00a0 We MUST seek other people\u2019s needs above our own.\u00a0 People have many needs as we all know but the first need we want to meet is their spiritual need \u201cto know Christ as Savior\u201d then we can help meet physical needs or material needs as God shows us.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Do we give of ourself to others only when it is convenient to us?\u00a0 Do we live our day in such a way that we say I have to take care of me and my family before I can help someone else?\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Do we keep mental records of what people deserve from us?\u00a0 If this is our way of thinking then we haven\u2019t learned what to \u201clove mercy\u201d really means.<\/p>\n<p>Proverbs 31:20 shows us the perfect example of what we should be doing\u00a0 to \u201clove mercy\u201d to others, it says \u201c she stretcheth our her hand to the poor; yea; she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Being merciful and loving to others should be our way of life, no matter where we are or what we are doing in our life, that is His will for us.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Walk humbly<\/em> \u2013 to live in complete dependence upon our Holy Lord, He deserves the glory and honor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We must admit that walking humbly doesn\u2019t fit too well in our society today.\u00a0 As we are all aware everything that goes on in our lives is \u201cpublic\u201d knowledge now.\u00a0\u00a0 We post a status on Facebook or Twitter to tell everyone what we are doing,\u00a0\u00a0 we post the latest pictures of our children\/grandchildren\/vacations,\u00a0 our lives\u00a0 are open for the whole world to see and know about us.\u00a0\u00a0 It\u2019s\u00a0 not\u00a0 the old days where what happens at home stays at home, nope the world sees all and knows all because we are the ones telling them all.<\/p>\n<p>We seem to care more about what others think, did they hit the \u201clike\u201d button on our FB status, than what God thinks about what we did in our day today and if what we did was something that brought glory to Him and not ourself.<\/p>\n<p>How can we walk humbly with God, if we aren\u2019t walking with God to begin with in our life? We can\u2019t begin to serve others if our lives aren\u2019t where they need to be yet.<\/p>\n<p>We can\u2019t learn these three aspects of what God\u2019s will is for our life until we practice them each day.\u00a0\u00a0 (act, love, walk).\u00a0 As we come to this last day of study for this week and at the point of signing the resolution\u00a0 we must make ourself aware of what the Holy Spirit is compelling us to do concerning this lesson and how He wishes to use us.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Here are some ideas that came to my mind as I was studying of ways I can act, love and walk\u2026<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cook a meal for someone sick<\/li>\n<li>Make cards for people at a nursing home<\/li>\n<li>Mow someone\u2019s grass<\/li>\n<li>Offer to babysit for someone<\/li>\n<li>Volunteer at a library to read to children<\/li>\n<li>Tutor children<\/li>\n<li>Write letters to first time college students who have left home to go off to school<\/li>\n<li>Clean up the trash in your city<\/li>\n<li>Stand at an intersection and give out bottles of water to people on a hot steamy day<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These are just some things that God brought to my heart as I studied today\u2019s lesson that I intend on acting upon.\u00a0 My opportunity to know God\u2019s will has been in front of my eyes for a long time, I\u2019ve never needed to ask God what His will is for me,\u00a0 it\u2019s all around me, I just need to act on it and He will continue providing other things that His will is for me as I show my obedience to doing the ones He has already presented to me now.<\/p>\n<p>This weeks chapter is entitled\u00a0 \u201cMy Heart\u201d, finding and knowing God\u2019s will is really pretty simple.\u00a0 It starts, and ends with our heart.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">Let\u2019s do God\u2019s will and do it without any reservations, let\u2019s keep our eyes and hearts open and resolve to be available!<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s Pray<\/p>\n<p><em>Dear God, I thank you for showing and explaining to each of us that Your will is already planned out for each of us and that as we are obedient to act, love and walk you will show us specifically where to go and what to do.\u00a0\u00a0 In your name I pray, Amen.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Your Assignment:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Ask God to show you things He wants You to do in this next week in order to act, to love and to walk in His will, and more importantly when He speaks, OBEY and do it!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Now head on over to our Online Bible Study Group on Facebook to see what our Daily FUN\u00a0Activity is.
