Going through this book I have loved the various crosses that we are to carry. I have loved learning of the true power that we\u00a0have as girls with swords.\u00a0\u00a0I have loved\u00a0learning about the true power that those swords possess.\u00a0 We are instructed to wield different kinds of swords, to possess different characteristics; and, yes, I have asked, \u201cHow, Lord? How do I do this and do it the right way?”<\/p>\n

Two words:\u00a0 \u201cFollow Him.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n

Jesus spoke the truth, fed the hungry,\u00a0cast\u00a0out demons, healed the sick, confronted religion, and raised the dead. He did this to show love, forgiveness, healing, freedom, and redemption.<\/p>\n

Christ:<\/b><\/h2>\n

Loved the people<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Matthew 4:23 (NKJV)<\/b><\/p>\n

And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people.<\/i>\u00a0<\/i><\/b>\u00a0<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Forgave the people<\/span><\/b><\/b><\/p>\n

Matthew 9:2-8 \u00a0(NKJV)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Then behold, they brought to Him a paralytic lying on a bed. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic,\u00a0\u201cSon, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you.\u201d\u00a0 <\/i>And at once some of the scribes said within themselves, \u201cThis Man blasphemes!\u201d\u00a0 <\/i>But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said,\u201cWhy do you think evil in your hearts?\u00a0For which is easier, to say, \u2018Your sins are forgiven you,\u2019 or to say, \u2018Arise and walk\u2019? But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins\u201d\u2014then He said to the paralytic,\u00a0\u201cArise, take up your bed, and go to your house.\u201d And he arose and departed to his house.\u00a0 Now when the multitudes saw it, they marveled\u00a0and\u00a0glorified God, who had given such power to men.<\/i>\u00a0<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Freed the people<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Acts 10:38 (NKJV)<\/b><\/p>\n

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.\u00a0<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

 <\/p>\n

Redeemed the people<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Psalm 107:2 (NKJV)<\/b><\/p>\n

Let the redeemed of the\u00a0Lord\u00a0say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n

One of the things that stood out to me the most is the need for us to follow Him, for us to model our lives, words, actions, and thoughts after Him. Lisa said more than once that this generation, the world we live in today, needs these things more than ever. We need love and forgiveness, we need redemption and freedom. We need miracles, and we need signs and wonders. We need to follow Him in His actions, in His efforts to draw others closer to Him. We need to show that the Cross was the \u201cultimate display of His unconditional love for us” (pg<\/span>. 214).<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Cross is our sign and you are His wonder.<\/i><\/b>\u201d \u00a0We were placed here to pick up our swords.\u00a0 We were placed here to follow Him and to build the kingdom of Christ.<\/p>\n

The final verse of this section touched my heart:<\/b><\/p>\n

Hebrews 10:23-25 (NKJV)<\/b><\/p>\n

Let us hold fast the confession of\u00a0our\u00a0hope without wavering, for He who promised\u00a0is\u00a0faithful. And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as\u00a0is\u00a0the manner of some, but exhorting\u00a0one another,\u00a0and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Love. Forgive. Free. Heal. Redeem. Encourage.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Let\u2019s Pray:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the example You offer to us.\u00a0 We see so much hurt and pain in our world.\u00a0 We know that we have the sword and we know that we have the power, but how to use these sometimes escapes us.\u00a0 Lord, remind<\/span> us to follow You, remind us to model after Your example.\u00a0 Most importantly remind us to love.\u00a0 Through love so many other tasks can be accomplished.\u00a0 As You instruct in Hebrews 10:23-25, let us stir up love, let us stir up good works, let us lift one another up.\u00a0 In Jesus\u2019 name we pray, Amen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
