Trust in the Lord…Who better to trust in?\u00a0\u00a0 But do I?\u00a0 Do you?\u00a0 Actually, yes, I think that we do!\u00a0 We have experienced and been blessed by God\u2019s goodness and grace and mercy over and over and over again.\u00a0 We have seen His loving care cover the lives of our loved ones.\u00a0 We know\u2014because He has graciously proven Himself\u2014that He is a faithful God Who always provides what is best for His children.<\/p>\n

But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope:
\nThe steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end;
\nThey are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
\n“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.”
\nThe Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.
\nIt is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.
\nLamentations 3:21-26<\/p>\n

TRUST, n.<\/p>\n

1. Confidence<\/span>; a reliance or resting of the mind on the integrity, veracity, justice, friendship or other sound principle of another person.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 He that putteth his trust<\/span> in the Lord shall be safe<\/i>.\u00a0 Proverbs 29:25
\n2. He (or that) which is the ground of confidence<\/span>.
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 For Thou art my hope; O Lord God, thou art my trust<\/span> from my youth<\/i>. Psalms 71:5

From these definitions we have an understanding that it is because of confidence<\/em> that we trust<\/span>. And we have confidence<\/em> in someone or something because they have proved themselves worthy of relying on them.\u00a0 When we think of these words in relation to our Father God…oh!<\/span>my!\u00a0 There is no doubt of His having proven Himself!\u00a0 He is a Faithful God Who always brings His promises into fruition!<\/p>\n

…Trust in, and be confident in the Lord<\/span> with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.\u00a0 In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.\u00a0 Be not wise in your own eyes; reverently fear and worship the Lord and turn [entirely] away from evil.
\nProverbs 3:5-7<\/p>\n

This verse comes to mind and brings me such peace in my heart! I do not have to always understand. I do not have to know what is going to happen.\u00a0 But, I need to follow Him. I need to trust Him<\/span> with all my heart. That part is my job.\u00a0 He will help me and He will get me through. It might not be easy (and truth be told, it won\u2019t always be easy), but it will be okay.<\/p>\n

The question is, ‘Will I…will you…lean on our own understanding or depend on God?’\u00a0 The wise choice is obvious when we remember that God knows the end from the beginning and He provides for and sustains all things that happens in between. Trusting Him<\/span>, and continuing to choose to trust Him<\/span>, is the wisest decision we can make\u2014every day of our lives.<\/p>\n

O taste and see that the Lord [our God] is good!
\nBlessed is the man who trusts and takes refuge in Him.
\nPsalms 34:8<\/p>\n

I love to have Scriptures<\/span> and encouraging words up around my house, don\u2019t you?\u00a0\u00a0 It reminds me of what was spoken to the Israelites as recorded in the book of Deuteronomy:<\/p>\n

Therefore you shall lay up these My words in your [minds and] hearts and in your [entire] being, and bind them for a sign upon your hands….
\nAnd you shall teach them to your children,
\nspeaking<\/span> of them when you sit in your house
\nand<\/span> when you walk along the road,
\nwhen<\/span> you lie down and when you rise up.
\nAnd you shall write them upon the doorposts of your house and on your gates,
\nThat your days and the days of your children may be multiplied
\nin<\/span> the land which the Lord swore to your fathers to give them,
\nas<\/span> long as the heavens are above the earth.
\nDeuteronomy 11:18-21<\/p>\n
