{"id":12376,"date":"2013-06-07T01:00:15","date_gmt":"2013-06-07T05:00:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/?p=12376"},"modified":"2013-06-06T21:28:48","modified_gmt":"2013-06-07T01:28:48","slug":"girls-with-swords-chapter-11-weekly-review-sword-of-song","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/2013\/06\/07\/girls-with-swords-chapter-11-weekly-review-sword-of-song\/","title":{"rendered":"Girls with Swords: Chapter 11 Weekly Review \u2013 \u201cSword of Song\u201d (with a SURPRISE Guest!!)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<h2 align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Welcome to Campground USA<\/span><\/h2>\n<p align=\"center\"><b><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Log Cabins, Nature Trails, Canoes,<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">Paddle Boats, Bikes, Fishing<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">________________________________________________<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u201c<b>Sing unto the Lord a new song<\/b>!\u201d\u00a0 Did this group ever worship the Lord in song this week and bring joy to Campground USA!\u00a0 Music, music, music could be heard blaring from our cabins, and women singing all up and down the nature trails as they went on their morning walk.\u00a0 Guess who else was singing with us?\u00a0 Why, the birds, of course!\u00a0 They seemed to be saying:\u00a0 \u201cIt\u2019s about time you all joined in with us!\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Even the other campers didn\u2019t seem to mind the sound of music and songs filtering throughout the campground.\u00a0 Yes, music is a universal language everyone seems to relate to.\u00a0 But, as a <em>sword<\/em>??\u00a0 Who would have thought?\u00a0 I can\u2019t wait to see how my girlfriends explain this one.\u00a0 Let\u2019s check them out!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Teresa<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Lisa begins this chapter with the introduction of a truly amazing sword.\u00a0 (T<span class=\"GINGER_SOFATWARE_correct\">he<\/span> <span class=\"GINGER_SOFATWARE_noSuggestion GINGER_SOFATWARE_correct\">flamberge<\/span>, which means \u201cflame blade.\u201d) This sword causes vibrations which loosens the opponent\u2019s grip and causes them to lose footing.\u00a0 The vibrations give the sword-bearer the upper hand.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The same thing happens when the created ones praise the Creator.\u00a0 The power is in the <span class=\"GINGER_SOFATWARE_correct\">praise<\/span>.\u00a0 Lisa says, \u201cas we sing<span class=\"GINGER_SOFATWARE_correct\">\u2026<\/span>especially when we sing the Word<span class=\"GINGER_SOFATWARE_correct\">\u2026<\/span>the airwaves begin to vibrate with sound, and the grip of the enemy slips as the friction between light and darkness increases.\u201d<i> <\/i>\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">When we sing praises to God the Father, the Creator, we join our vibrations with other humans, animals, and His creation to return thanks and worship to One worthy to be praised.<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Jennifer<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Exodus 15:1-2 says:\u00a0 <i>I will sing to the Lord, for He has triumphed gloriously; He has hurled both horse and rider into the sea. The Lord is my strength and my song; He has given me victory. This is my God, and I will praise Him \u2013 my father\u2019s God, and I will exalt Him!<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">This song <b>marks the origin or beginning of <span class=\"GINGER_SOFATWARE_correct\">song<\/span>.\u00a0 <\/b>It came after the Lord had just parted the Red Sea for the Israelites allowing them all to cross; then the\u00a0water rushed back into place, sweeping the Egyptians away with it.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Music:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span class=\"GINGER_SOFATWARE_correct\">draws<\/span> us closer to our Creator<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span class=\"GINGER_SOFATWARE_correct\">it<\/span> invites Him into our space and allows Him to work<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span class=\"GINGER_SOFATWARE_correct\">provides<\/span> a means of coping with a difficult life situation<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span class=\"GINGER_SOFATWARE_correct\">declares<\/span> our trust in the One who is trustworthy; the One who loves us beyond comprehension; and the One who seeks to meet our every need in His perfect time<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">God is magnified, His dominion is declared over our situation.\u00a0 As He inhabits the praises of His people, we are before Him even as He is within us.\u00a0 Our hearts begin to swell with His courage as they overflow with gratitude.\u00a0 (Lisa)<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">Lift your voice to the King.\u00a0 He is waiting to hear your voice!<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">Tonya<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">Isaiah 54:1 says<b>: <\/b><i>\u201cSing, O barren, you who have not borne! Break forth into singing, and cry aloud, you who have not labored with child! For more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married woman,\u201d says the Lord. <\/i>(NKJV)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">Just as Lisa has described it:\u00a0 &#8220;The sounds of music <span class=\"GINGER_SOFATWARE_correct\">helps<\/span> to create a type of joyful strength and the ability to remind us of just how awesome the Most High is.&#8221;<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">There are times in our lives when we need to pick up our sword of song, we need to wield it, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">shout and sing<\/span>.\u00a0 The song of battle needs to be one of our tools as a warrior of Christ, and as a girl with a sword.<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">Diane<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">There are some things I feel compelled to share with you about this chapter.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>1.\u00a0 Revelation 4:9-10<\/b>\u00a0 <i>Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say<\/i>: \u201c<i>You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.\u201d<\/i><b><\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">The first time I read this passage &#8212;-<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">It helped me solidify who God is in my life.\u00a0 He is worthy of all of my praise, glory, and honor.<b><\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">It challenges me to make sure that in everything I do, there are elders on their knees in Heaven worshipping our One and Only.<b><\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>2.\u00a0 Music invites your body to move, but remembering all that God has done for you will move you.<\/b>\u00a0 <span class=\"GINGER_SOFATWARE_correct\">(<\/span>Lisa) It will move you out of darkness!<b><\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">3.\u00a0 The song that moved me out of some of the darkest hours of my life is:<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">I love you Lord, and I lift my voice<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">To worship you, oh my soul rejoice.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">Take joy, my King, in what you hear<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">May it be a sweet, sweet sound in your ear.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">4.\u00a0 <span class=\"GINGER_SOFATWARE_correct\">Is the song you sing<\/span> every day the life you live for God?\u00a0 <\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">**********\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">After Diane spoke, I stood before the group and spoke. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">Ladies, I believe the Sword of Song has touched all of our hearts in a powerful way.\u00a0 Tonight, as we enter into His gates with Thanksgiving and into His courts with praise, we are very blessed to have a very special Guest; one of our very own GCH group members leading us into God\u2019s presence. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><strong><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman';\">Would you please welcome Coleen Hayden and her husband Robert, as they minister to us in song.
