{"id":12369,"date":"2013-06-06T01:00:02","date_gmt":"2013-06-06T05:00:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/?p=12369"},"modified":"2013-06-13T10:14:22","modified_gmt":"2013-06-13T14:14:22","slug":"girls-with-swords-chapter-11-open-thoughts-of-chapter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/2013\/06\/06\/girls-with-swords-chapter-11-open-thoughts-of-chapter\/","title":{"rendered":"Girls with Swords: Chapter 11- Open Thoughts of Chapter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>I remember my grandmother telling me the favorite part of her day was when she was worshipping God.\u00a0 When she told me that, I asked her if she sang to God every day.\u00a0 I was confused because the only time I ever thought I worshipped God was\u00a0when I\u00a0would sing praises at\u00a0church.\u00a0 My grandmother knew exactly what I was thinking and, with a smile, she replied with words that spoke directly to my heart, \u201cI sing to God every day, with my words, with my prayers, with my thoughts, and with my time I spend reading the Bible and being still in His presence.\u201d\u00a0 This is when I learned worship isn\u2019t about\u00a0the building you are in, the drums in the background, or the people around you.\u00a0 Instead it is all\u00a0about using every opportunity of worship throughout the day to escape to a place of love, grace, mercy, peace, and complete joy with our Heavenly Father.\u00a0 Our favorite time of\u00a0the\u00a0day should easily be the time spent singing to God.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>After reading this chapter and the blogs that my amazing friends have prepared for us there are some things God has laid on my heart I feel compelled to share with you.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Revelation 4:9-10<\/p>\n<p>Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on \u00a0the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The first time I read this passage in the Bible, I could not help but cry out to God.\u00a0 This passage helped solidify <em>who<\/em> God is in my life.\u00a0 He is worthy of all of my praise, glory, and honor.\u00a0 This passage challenges me to make sure that in everything I do, there are elders on their knees in Heaven worshipping our One and Only.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I love You, Lord,<br \/>\nand I lift my voice<br \/>\nto worship You;<br \/>\noh, my soul rejoice!<br \/>\ntake joy, my King<br \/>\nin what You hear&#8230;<br \/>\nmay it be a sweet, sweet sound in Your ear!<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I cannot even begin to describe to you how this song has helped me through some of the darkest hours of my life.\u00a0 Now, I fall asleep singing this song many nights.\u00a0 I am so thankful for music that God uses to help us through the dark.\u00a0 As Lisa says on page 173 &#8220;Music invites your body to move, but remembering all that God has done for you will move you.&#8221;\u00a0 (<em>Move you<\/em> out of the darkness!)
