{"id":12249,"date":"2013-06-03T01:01:19","date_gmt":"2013-06-03T05:01:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/?p=12249"},"modified":"2013-06-02T16:56:00","modified_gmt":"2013-06-02T20:56:00","slug":"girls-with-swords-chapter-11-sword-of-song-pgs-167-168","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/2013\/06\/03\/girls-with-swords-chapter-11-sword-of-song-pgs-167-168\/","title":{"rendered":"Girls with Swords:  Chapter 11 \u2013 \u201cSword of Song\u201d (pgs 167-168)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This chapter brought out my inner science nerd.\u00a0 The thought of a sword as a tuning instrument made me think of <span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\">vibrations<span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8230;<\/span><\/span>and <strong><em><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><span class=\"GINGER_SOFATWARE_correct\">vibrations<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/strong> make <span style=\"color: #000000;\">sound<\/span>&#8230;and <span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>sound<\/strong><\/span> makes <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">praise<\/span>&#8230;and <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">praise<\/span><\/strong> means <strong><em><span style=\"color: #800080;\">WORSHIP<\/span><\/em><\/strong>. \u00a0And then I wondered what it must be like to see the Creation from God\u2019s perspective.\u00a0 We look at the heavens from earth and marvel at the silent beauty, but did you know the heavens make music?<\/p>\n<p>If you want to find inspiration for great <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">praise<\/span> songs, turn to the book of Psalms.\u00a0 Had you ever thought about your Sword containing songs of praise and worship <span class=\"GINGER_SOFATWARE_correct\">to<\/span> the Creator?\u00a0 Check out <strong>Psalms 148<\/strong> today, then I want you to spend a little time watching this amazing video of Louis Giglio (God\u2019s science nerd Supreme)<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/7zWKm-LZWm4\" height=\"315\" width=\"530\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The sensitive microphones attached to the massive telescopes have recorded the stars singing praises to their Creator. \u00a0The streams babble and the waves crash.\u00a0 The animals communicate and so do the humans.\u00a0 If the rocks can cry out in praise <span class=\"GINGER_SOFATWARE_correct\">for<\/span> the Father, why do we hold back?\u00a0 Take a few moments to consider How Great is Our God!?!\u00a0 He is Great and He is Worthy to be praised.<\/p>\n<p>Lisa begins this chapter with the introduction of a truly amazing sword.\u00a0 I had seen flaming bladed swords on cartoons and movies, but never even considered they were a real thing.\u00a0 To learn that they were used in battle and were an asset to the one wielding the sword was truly amazing.\u00a0 My mind immediately went to the Garden of Eden and the angel with the flaming sword guarding the eastern gate to prevent Adam and Eve (and sin) from re-entering.\u00a0 As I studied, I found that most references to this kind of sword are inspired from the Bible accounts.<\/p>\n<p>This sword causes vibrations which loosen the <span class=\"GINGER_SOFATWARE_correct\">opponents<\/span> grip and cause them to lose footing.\u00a0 The vibrations give the sword-bearer the upper hand.\u00a0 The same thing happens when the created ones praise the Creator.\u00a0 The power is in the <span class=\"GINGER_SOFATWARE_correct\">praise<\/span>.\u00a0 Lisa says, <em><strong>\u201cas we sing<span class=\"GINGER_SOFATWARE_correct\">\u2026<\/span>especially when we sing the Word<span class=\"GINGER_SOFATWARE_correct\">\u2026<\/span>the airwaves begin to vibrate with sound, and the grip of the enemy slips as the friction between light and darkness increases\u201d <\/strong><\/em>(p. 168).\u00a0 When we sing praises to God, the Father, the Creator, we join our vibrations with other humans, animals, and His creation to return thanks and worship to One Worthy to be praised.<\/p>\n<p>The other thought that has plagued my mind today is this:\u00a0 If I get my feelings hurt when one of my kids withholds &#8220;thank you\u2019s&#8221; and &#8220;I love you\u2019s&#8221;, then how much more must God be hurt by our selfishness?\u00a0 The Psalms are full of examples of showing gratitude to the Father for everything that happens in our lives&#8212;good and bad.\u00a0 I don\u2019t want to be an ungrateful child.\u00a0 I want to show my love and adoration unconditional.\u00a0If you need guidance or a place to start, begin in Psalms and let your heart worship with the\u00a0psalmist.<\/p>\n<p>Today, let\u2019s consider our favorite \u201cways to praise\u201d or our favorite praise music and share it with someone.\u00a0 How Great Is Our God\u00a0is one of my favorites from Chris Tomlin and Louis Giglio.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Share a link or verse or words from your favorite Praise and Worship music. <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>To God be the Glory!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Let Us\u00a0Praise:<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><em><strong><span style=\"color: #b14eb1;\">Psalms 148:13-14 <\/span><\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n<em><strong> <span style=\"color: #b14eb1;\">Let them praise the name of the Lord, for his name alone is exalted; his splendor is above the earth and the heavens. \u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/em><em><strong><span style=\"color: #b14eb1;\">And he has raised up for his people a horn, the praise of all his faithful servants, of Israel, the people close to his heart.
