{"id":12215,"date":"2013-05-31T01:01:37","date_gmt":"2013-05-31T05:01:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/?p=12215"},"modified":"2013-05-30T19:20:28","modified_gmt":"2013-05-30T23:20:28","slug":"girls-with-swords-chapter-10-weekly-review-sword-of-light","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/2013\/05\/31\/girls-with-swords-chapter-10-weekly-review-sword-of-light\/","title":{"rendered":"Girls with Swords: Chapter 10 Weekly Review \u2013 \u201cSword of Light.\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 align=\"center\"><b><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Welcome to Campground USA<\/span><br \/>\n<\/b><\/h2>\n<p align=\"center\"><b>Log Cabins, Nature Trails, Canoes,<\/b><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>Paddle Boats, Bikes, Fishing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Yes, here we are at the campground listening to the birds chirping every morning, as well as sipping coffee, taking walks along the nature trail, and above all, learning so much about our Sword from Lisa Bevere.\u00a0 No doubt each woman has their own special chapter that might have ministered to them the most.\u00a0 For me, it was Chapter 10, our current chapter.\u00a0 So, let\u2019s head on down to the bonfire to see what my 4 girlfriends have to say about it.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><b><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Teresa\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u201cWe can\u2019t see the whole picture <b>NOW <\/b>(<span class=\"GINGER_SOFATWARE_correct\">the<\/span> earthbound temporal realm). Because there is more than what meets the eye, <em><b>\u201cwe need the sword of light and discernment\u201d<\/b><\/em> \u00a0to see what our eyes are missing in the Big Picture. \u00a0(Lisa)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">If we do not recognize the Light, the darkness will overtake us and the ones we love.\u00a0 Paul\u2019s letter to Timothy described the last days as: <i><\/i><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">People will<i>&#8212;-<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><i><span class=\"GINGER_SOFATWARE_correct\">love<\/span> only themselves and their money\u00a0 <\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><i><span class=\"GINGER_SOFATWARE_correct\">be<\/span> boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful\u00a0 <\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><i><span class=\"GINGER_SOFATWARE_correct\">consider<\/span> nothing sacred\u00a0 <\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><i><span class=\"GINGER_SOFATWARE_correct\">be<\/span> unloving and unforgiving<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><i><span class=\"GINGER_SOFATWARE_correct\">will<\/span> slander others and have no self-control<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><i><span class=\"GINGER_SOFATWARE_correct\">be<\/span> cruel and hate what is good\u00a0 <\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><i><span class=\"GINGER_SOFATWARE_correct\">betray<\/span> their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God <\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li>\u00a0<span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><i><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span class=\"GINGER_SOFATWARE_correct\">act<\/span> religious, but will reject the power that could make them godly <\/span><\/i>(2 Timothy 3:1-5)<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">These are not issues brought about by circumstances of where you live, but about where your <span style=\"color: #000000;\">HEART<\/span><strong> <\/strong><strong>is.\u00a0 <\/strong>Just as Lisa said:<strong>\u00a0 <\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The Word of God is the lamp that lights our <span class=\"GINGER_SOFATWARE_correct\">paths<\/span> while it judges our actions as surely as it discerns our hearts.\u00a0 Without the light of God\u2019s Word, we would all be running around in the dark, afraid of what we cannot see.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">Without the insight of God\u2019s Word, it is easy to mistake an enemy for a friend and someone\u2019s past for their future, because the shadow realm distorts our perspective.\u00a0 But when the light is brought to a situation, you see what is actually before you.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">Jennifer\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">Satan uses his schemes, plots, and tactics to divide us from God and each other.\u00a0 Lisa presents three methods of countering Satan\u2019s attacks.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>1.\u00a0 Love<\/b> <strong>&#8211; &#8211;<\/strong> Biblical love teaches us what true love really is in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 and Mark 12:31.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">\u201cHate lives in the dark; love lives in the light.\u201d\u00a0 (Lisa)<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>2.\u00a0 Power &#8211; &#8211; <\/b>Satan attempts to make us think we are not worthy or good enough by using our past sins against us.\u00a0 Remember:\u00a0 <i>\u201cWe are descendants of a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession\u201d<\/i>\u00a0 (1 Peter 2:9).\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Our #1 assignment is to be an ambassador for Christ and to let His will be done in our lives.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">\u201cYou are his prized possession, redeemed to proclaim all that He did when He called you out of a life of darkness to live forever in the glory of His light.\u00a0 That\u2019s the power of your testimony.\u201d\u00a0 (Lisa)<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">3.\u00a0 <\/span>\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Sound Mind &#8211; &#8211; <\/b>Our thoughts can breed a multitude of negative thoughts.\u00a0 \u201c<i>Don\u2019t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.\u00a0 Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect His will really is&#8221;\u00a0 <\/i>(Romans 12:2).<b><\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">\u201cThe Word of God has the power to renew your mind and change it from unsound to sound.\u201d<b> (<\/b>Lisa)<b><\/b><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">Tonya<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">We are a society that almost automatically labels those around us; we label ourselves just as much. Often times these labels focus on our <b>negative <\/b>characteristics, what we or others may see wrong on the outside, or on our brokenness. But there is more\u00a0beyond those labels.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">Lisa says:\u00a0 \u201cDiscernment is about knowing what is really going on, so that heroic daughters can turn what others see as a <strong>disadvantage into an advantage<\/strong>. The discerning warrior will know how to<strong> turn evil around for good<\/strong>.\u201d <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">God gifted us with discernment so that we <b>could see the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">good<\/span> and the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">bad<\/span><\/b>, so that we could help encourage the good and help us see ourselves and those around us for what He created us to be.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">As the much loved scripture says:\u00a0&#8220;<i>And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose<\/i>&#8221; (Romans 8:28).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">Diane<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">The following words from Lisa <span style=\"color: #000000;\">are ones that\u00a0stuck out the most to me: <b><\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Discernment and true intercession have the power to release restrained captives into their destiny.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Throughout His earthly walk, Jesus discerned the work of the Evil One, then interceded by bringing light, truth, and healing <span class=\"GINGER_SOFATWARE_correct\">into<\/span> the darkened days of earth.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Discernment realizes when others are blind and then intercedes based on their ignorance rather than on their actions. The cross ended our separation from God, but his intercession didn\u2019t stop there; Jesus not only rose from the grave; he ascended into heaven and is interceding for us.\u00a0 (Romans. 8:33-34)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">(Diane\u2019s testimony sums up &#8216;Discernment and Prayer&#8217; beautifully)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">I was once held captive, restrained by Satan\u2019s slithering grasp. I was so blinded by the darkness my life was quickly becoming.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: medium;\">I cried painful tears every single day.\u00a0 Every time I cried, I wished someone would see me crying, and then maybe someone would pray for me; I had no strength or words to pray for myself.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: medium;\">Then I came across this passage:\u00a0 <i>In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness.\u00a0 We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.\u00a0 And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God\u2019s will.<\/i>\u00a0 <span class=\"GINGER_SOFATWARE_correct\">(<\/span>Romans 8:26-27)<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: medium;\">I then realized that God saw every tear that fell from my eyes, not only did He catch them in His hands, but He also prayed each one away.\u00a0 In those teary moments, God\u2019s spirit interceded for me. He was the One I was wishing for all along to pray for me &#8211; -I just didn\u2019t know it at the time. <\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: medium;\">Because of the dark we find God\u2019s light.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: medium;\">Because we have found God\u2019s light, we are able to help others find God\u2019s light.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/IntercedeForOthers.jpg.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-12232\" alt=\"IntercedeForOthers.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/IntercedeForOthers.jpg.jpg\" width=\"480\" height=\"240\" srcset=\"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/IntercedeForOthers.jpg.jpg 600w, https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/IntercedeForOthers.jpg-300x150.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/a>\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">**********\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">After Diane spoke, <b>Praise and Worship<\/b> began.\u00a0 This is usually the time I reflect on what my friends have just spoken about. \u00a0As I said, this chapter really touched my heart.\u00a0 To be honest, I have never considered myself an intercessor.
