{"id":12116,"date":"2013-05-25T00:30:03","date_gmt":"2013-05-25T04:30:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/?p=12116"},"modified":"2013-05-24T12:01:09","modified_gmt":"2013-05-24T16:01:09","slug":"my-name-is-child-of-god","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/2013\/05\/25\/my-name-is-child-of-god\/","title":{"rendered":"My Name is &#8216;Worthy&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">It has been quite a week\u2014the horrific tornado in Oklahoma and the tragic loss of so many lives&#8230;stuff and nonsense happening in my own life&#8230;hearing of sadness and grief experienced by dear friends.\u00a0 All this wears on\u00a0my heart; have you found this to be so?\u00a0 Sometimes our hearts and minds get distracted by the things of this world and we forget to believe the Truth that we know. \u00a0And, <i>sometimes<\/i>, it causes us to wonder, \u2018Why?\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Why?\u00a0 The truth is we have an enemy.\u00a0 One who loathes&#8230;no&#8230;truly hates God and His children.\u00a0 He is determined to take what our Lord came to make available to us.\u00a0 Jesus said,<\/p>\n<p align=\"CENTER\">A thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.<br \/>\nI have come so that they may have life, and have it in abundance.<br \/>\nJohn 10:10<\/p>\n<p>The evil that we experience is meant to draw us away from dwelling in God\u2019s presence\u2014to <em>steal<\/em>.\u00a0 It is designed to dampen and diminish our love for our Lord\u2014to <em>kill<\/em>.\u00a0 And, ultimately, to cause us to turn away from God and His Word\u2014to <em>destroy<\/em>.\u00a0 This is what the enemy of our souls attempts to do.\u00a0 <b><i>However<\/i><\/b><i><\/i>, Jesus has made it available for us to have <em><strong><span style=\"color: #339966;\">LIFE<\/span> <\/strong><\/em>full of grace and mercy, free, in abundance, joyous, peace-filled, and blessed!\u00a0 Amen?<\/p>\n<p>So much that God has intended for us is ours to simply receive\u2014by His grace!\u00a0 But we do have a\u00a0 part to play in enjoying this life that Jesus has made available\u2014we need to hold the Truth of God\u2019s Word in our hearts and minds.<\/p>\n<p align=\"CENTER\">Your Word I have <i>treasured<\/i> in my heart,<br \/>\nThat I may not sin against You.<br \/>\nPsalms 119:11<\/p>\n<p><em>Treasured<\/em> is also translated in other versions as \u2018hid&#8230;hidden&#8230;stored&#8230;laid up.\u2019\u00a0 God\u2019s Word(s) hidden in our hearts keeps us from sinning.\u00a0 When the <em>treasure<\/em> of His Word is stored up in our hearts we remember what is written in the Scriptures and not only do we believe His promises but we trust in them, we act on them, we obey&#8230;all very pleasing to our Father God!<\/p>\n<p>In my own heart, I can be distracted by words (from the past as well as the present) that are NOT the Truth.\u00a0 These lies are the enemy\u2019s attempts to steal, kill, and destroy my relationship with the One Who loves me so.\u00a0 I <i>must<\/i> take His Word that I have <em>treasured<\/em> in my heart and remember it, believe it, trust in it, act on it, and obey!\u00a0 When I do&#8230;oh, the abundant, joyous, free, grace and mercy-filled life I enjoy!\u00a0 His Word tells me the TRUTH of who\u00a0I am!!!<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Hello My Name Is By Matthew West\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/xctUxzZhNRs?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
