Here we are again – -continuing our study in Girlfriends With Swords,<\/i><\/b> by Lisa Bevere. <\/span><\/span>Tonight, we will try to grab hold of what Becoming a Warrior<\/i> means.\u00a0 But, first let\u2019s play a game with Chapters 1-5.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

You might say these chapters took us through Basic Training<\/i>, preparing us to be a warrior in God\u2019s army.\u00a0 In an effort to make sure their groups are spiritually fit for the front line of duty, Amy, Christi, Laurie, and Kim devised a Girls<\/span> With Swords Trivia Game.<\/i><\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Here\u2019s how it works:\u00a0 Christi made cards with words or scriptures taught in Basic Training<\/i>. A contest is going on between Group 1 and Group 2 to see who can be the first to answer all the questions on the cards.<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Wasn\u2019t that fun?\u00a0 I need to review several of those scriptures.\u00a0 I think I\u2019ve been grazing <\/i><\/b>and not feasting <\/i><\/b>on the Word.\u00a0 (Ugh)\u00a0 Time to head over to the bonfire. I\u2019m anxious to hear Teresa, Jennifer, Tonya, and Diane speak<\/span> on Becoming a Warrior<\/i>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Teresa <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Lisa gives us words a WARRIOR <\/span>would understand:\u00a0 strategy, intuition, vision, wisdom, patience, persistence, tenacity, a unified voice, and concerted effort. <\/b>This requires us to develop Maturity<\/b> as a Spiritual Warrior<\/b>. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Apostle Paul spoke to people in Hebrews 6 about becoming mature Christ followers.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSo let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don\u2019t need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds and placing our faith in God.\u00a0 You don\u2019t need further instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.\u00a0 And so, God willing, we will move forward to further understanding.\u201d\u00a0 <\/i>(NLT) <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The basic teachings are very important.\u00a0 Once a new believer understands the basic lessons, it is time to practice <\/span><\/b>what was learned and \u201cmove forward\u201d toward maturity.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We have a CHOICE to believe, a CHOICE to mature,<\/span><\/span><\/b>
\nand<\/span> a CHOICE to live in a way that brings Honor and Glory to God the Father.<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Jennifer<\/span><\/b><\/h3>\n

Girlfriends, warriors are not hired; they are called<\/b>. David had an elite group of men fighting with him. They were not soldiers, hired to do a particular job. They were called to the task.<\/p>\n

As Lisa said:\u00a0 \u201dYou are at once <\/span>a daughter and<\/span> a warrior.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0 There is no separation between the two. If you are a part of God\u2019s family\u2014a part of His army\u2014then you are one of His warriors.<\/p>\n

I\u00a0think many of us are scared to be warriors.\u00a0 We want to just \u201cget by.\u201d But, I am challenging you today to rise up!<\/p>\n

Face Your Fear Today and<\/b>
\nPut Your Trust in God!<\/b><\/p>\n

All soldiers are trained, but in addition to being trained, a warrior<\/b> will be tempered.<\/b>\u00a0 <\/span><\/span>For example:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
