While a soldier\u00a0isn&#8217;t\u00a0less important, less needed or lower than a warrior, a warrior possesses traits I want to strive for. I want to be a soldier that matures into a warrior. I want to \u201csign on to be more than a soldier\u201d. I want to be tempered until I am the warrior God designed me to be. I looked up the term tempering because to be honest\u00a0I&#8217;ve\u00a0only really heard it in reference to chocolate (which I feel is one of God\u2019s food choices for us women warriors).<\/p>\n<p><b><i>Tempering<\/i><\/b><b><i> may refer to:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a title=\"Tempering (metallurgy)\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tempering_(metallurgy)\"><b><i>Tempering (metallurgy)<\/i><\/b><\/a><b><i>, a heat treatment, \u00a0technique for metals and alloys<\/i><\/b><\/li>\n<li><b><i>A process for producing <\/i><\/b><a title=\"Tempered glass\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tempered_glass\"><b><i>tempered glass<\/i><\/b><\/a><b><i><\/i><\/b><\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Chocolate\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Chocolate#Tempering\"><b><i>Chocolate tempering<\/i><\/b><\/a><b><i>, a method of \u00a0increasing the shine and durability of chocolate covertures<\/i><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Like Lisa said \u201cthe processing of tempering may not be pleasant or quick\u201d. \u00a0But imagine the outcome. \u00a0Imagine being the warrior woman who not only sees what our enemy is doing, but one who can follow God\u2019s lead into battles with his promises in our hearts.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" align=\"center\"><b><i>2 Kings 6:16-17<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" align=\"center\"><b><i>So he answered, \u201cDo not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.\u201d <sup>\u00a0<\/sup>And Elisha prayed, and said, \u201cLord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.\u201d Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\" align=\"center\"><i>Romans 8:31<\/i><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" align=\"center\"><b><i><sup>\u00a0<\/sup>What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?<\/i><\/b><b><i><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Imagine walking into battles without the \u201cblinding fear\u201d that has stopped us in the past. Imagine walking into battles, big and small, private and public, wanting to give our all, wanting to be an example for others, wanting to be different than those around us.<\/p>\n<p>The example of Elisha instructing the King not to slaughter his enemies, but instead to honor them and gift them with a feast was surprising to me, but it made sense. <em><strong>A warrior isn\u2019t quick to teach a lesson<\/strong><\/em>, <em><strong>they aren\u2019t quick to avenge a wrong done<\/strong><\/em>. But in the right situations<em><strong> they are compelled to offer grace, and compassion<\/strong><\/em>. They are <em><strong>compelled to show God\u2019s love<\/strong><\/em>, they are <strong><em><span class=\"GINGER_SOFATWARE_correct\">led<\/span> by God to do what is<\/em> <span class=\"GINGER_SOFATWARE_correct\">needed<\/span> when it is needed, whether it is to offer grace, or to stand up and fight<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>When we see a \u201clion with a lamb in his mouth\u201d, when we see an area where we can make a difference, an area where we can bless others, an area where God\u2019s love can shine through us, we as warriors need to seize the opportunity. We need to face each day, each task, and each battle with the perspective of more than just a soldier; we need to face these with the perspective of a warrior. I pray that You open our eyes to see those standing behind us when we need it. \u00a0I pray that we become more than soldiers, and that we desire to be more and do more.
