It doesn\u2019t matter whether one is a child learning to memorize Scripture, or an adult who has endeavored to walk in the Truth for twenty years, or a new believer just learning the power that can be wielded by God\u2019s Word\u2014this can be the cry of every single child of God. May I be so bold as to say, \u2018This SHOULD<\/em> be the cry of every one of God\u2019s children!\u2019<\/p>\n As I studied this particular verse, and read the beautiful expression of it in different Bible versions, I saw such a bigger picture.\u00a0 Here, listen:<\/p>\n The word hidden<\/strong><\/em> is also translated as \u2018treasured\u2019 and \u2018store up.\u2019\u00a0 I think it is like certain items that we treasure and hide, or store away.\u00a0 I keep cards.\u00a0 Birthday, Christmas, Happy Hearts Day, encouragement, thank you, miss you, Thanksgiving, sympathy cards…I keep \u2018em all.\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 It is because I treasure<\/span> the words of the loved ones who have given them to me and so I hide<\/span> them away and store<\/span> them.\u00a0 (It is a BIG box!)\u00a0 Similarly with God\u2019s Words…we treasure them and so we hide them in our hearts storing them away.<\/span><\/p>\n Here are a few other verses that we can hide in our hearts to help us, to strengthen us:<\/p>\n I desire to do your will, my God; your law is within my heart<\/em>. The mouth of the [uncompromisingly] righteous utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks with justice.\u00a0 The law of his God is in his heart<\/em>; none of his steps shall slide. My son, keep my words<\/em> And treasure my commandments<\/em> within you. My son, if you will receive my words and treasure up my commandments<\/em> within you, One last point: in every single one of the translations of this verse in different Bible versions, one thing remains the same.\u00a0 (Did you notice it, too?)\u00a0 “…that I may not sin against You<\/strong><\/em>.”\u00a0 The motivation of our hearts, yes?\u00a0 Our hearts desire is to love God<\/strong> and be pleasing to Him.\u00a0 We know from the Scriptures that the way to do that is to obey Him<\/strong>.\u00a0 We obey God by having His Words hidden (treasured, stored up) in our hearts so that we will not sin against Him.<\/p>\n John 14:15<\/strong> 1 Samuel 15:22<\/strong> 1 John 5:3<\/strong> The Word of God is our most powerful weapon against sin.\u00a0 But useless are words on a page that are not hidden<\/span>, treasured<\/span>, and stored in the heart<\/span>.<\/em><\/p>\n My prayer before our loving Father is that you…<\/p>\n …Put on God\u2019s complete armor, that you may be able to resist and<\/i> stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands], to stand [firmly in your place]. \n\n
