{"id":11229,"date":"2013-04-19T00:01:20","date_gmt":"2013-04-19T04:01:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/?p=11229"},"modified":"2013-04-18T23:41:53","modified_gmt":"2013-04-19T03:41:53","slug":"girls-with-swords-chapter-4-weekly-review-the-battleground","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/2013\/04\/19\/girls-with-swords-chapter-4-weekly-review-the-battleground\/","title":{"rendered":"Girls With Swords: Chapter 4 Weekly Review \u2013 \u201cThe Battleground\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><b>Welcome to Campground USA<\/b><b> <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><b><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Log Cabins, Nature Trails, Canoes,<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><b><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Paddle Boats, Bikes, Fishing<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">That\u2019s where we are &#8211; over 125 women &#8211; camping at Campground USA, studying <b><i><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Girls with Swords<\/span><\/i><\/b> by Lisa Bevere.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">During the day, women huddle in small groups throughout the campground, becoming \u201c<i>doers of the Word<\/i>.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">They have grabbed hold of Lisa\u2019s statement:\u00a0 \u201c<i>We are a <b>TARGET<\/b> of the enemy, not because of something we have done, but most likely because of something satan knows we are going to do.\u201d<\/i>\u00a0 (Do I hear an \u201cAMEN\u201d\u00a0 to that!)<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">A sight to see that will \u201cbless your socks off, is women walking the nature trails quoting God\u2019s Word from their <span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><i>Pink Bedazzled Sword<\/i><\/span>.\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #000000;\">(Diane, the devil doesn\u2019t stand a chance when he sees <\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\">PINK<\/span><\/strong> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">coming at him!)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: medium;\">Excitement has filled the campers\u2019 hearts with Teresa\u2019s urging to become a <b>HERO <\/b>in this battle, and join Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Rahab listed in the Hall of Faith. \u00a0(After all, they are cheering us on!) <\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: medium;\">Tonya put to rest any fears the women had of becoming a superhero: \u00a0\u201c<b><i>It\u2019s not by my might, nor by my power but by His spirit<\/i>.\u201d\u00a0 <\/b>\u00a0(You got that right, Tonya!)<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>PRAYER<\/b> is really shaking things up!\u00a0 Would you believe I saw Coleen, Erin, and Merol<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">doing cartwheels?\u00a0 It excites them seeing women putting their armor on everyday and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">linking it up with prayer<\/span>. (Check\u2019em out behind Cabin #4 &#8211; -woohooo!)\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><b>PRAISE AND WORSHIP<\/b> at the end of each nightly session is just out of this world. Even the \u201c<i>city girls<\/i>,\u201d who would never set foot inside a campground think they are in heaven!\u00a0 (Let\u2019s don\u2019t tell them any different.)\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">As night approaches, they gather around the bonfire to discuss the assigned chapter.\u00a0 Tonight, Chapter 4, <i><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a0The Battleground,<\/span><\/i> is the topic of discussion. My girlfriends will answer the questions \u201cWhere is the battle?\u201d and \u201cWho is my enemy?\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">Jennifer\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">What I have to say may sound harsh, but I\u2019m going to give you <b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">8<\/span><\/b> points that are a reality! \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">We spend our time and energy fighting each other.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Our war is <b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">not<\/span><\/b> with any political party, alternative lifestyle, social issue, family member, pastor, President of the United States, or any other worldly circumstance. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Our war is with Satan.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">When he sees us fighting with each other, he laughs; when he can cause division and strife, he wins.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Unbelievers are watching Christians. They are trying to see if we live our lives differently than they live theirs.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><strong>We cannot have a negative spirit toward anyone and be right with God.<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>We must <\/strong><strong>t<\/strong><\/span>ake every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (<\/span><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=2+Corinthians+10%3A5&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: medium;\">2 Corinthians 10:5<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">).<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: medium;\">We must model our leader, Jesus Christ, who tells us to: <\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: medium;\">Love our neighbor as ourselves (<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=mark%2012:31&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: medium;\">Mark 12:31<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">)\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: medium;\">Love our enemies (<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=matthew%205:44&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: medium;\">Matthew 5:44<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">) <\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: medium;\">Pray for those who persecute us (<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=matthew%205:44&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: medium;\">Matthew 5:44<\/span><\/a><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"center\"><b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">This, girlfriends, \u00a0is the answer to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">how<\/span> we defeat the enemy.<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Teresa<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Did you know that there is a prayer that Jesus prayed that has not been answered YET?\u00a0\u00a0How can that be? <\/span>In John 17:20-23, at The Last Supper, Jesus prays for you and me: <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">\u201cI do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word<b> <\/b>that they may all be <b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">one<\/span><\/b>, just as You, Father, are in me, and I in You, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that You have sent me.\u00a0 The glory that You have given me I have given to them, that they may be <b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">one<\/span><\/b> even as we are <b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">one<\/span><\/b>, I in them and You in me, that they may become <b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">perfectly one<\/span><\/b>, so that the world may know that You sent me and loved them even as You loved me.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">God&#8217;s plan for redemption includes:<b><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> One Heart\u00a0 \u00a0One Vision\u00a0 \u00a0One Purpose\u00a0 \u00a0One Name\u00a0 \u00a0One Kingdom\u00a0 \u00a0One Mandate<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">I submit to you that we would then become the answer <\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><strong>to the prayer Jesus prayed.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">Tonya<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">Jesus fought a battle larger than any we could imagine.\u00a0\u00a0He died on the cross and won that battle so we could handle the battles He knew would follow. \u00a0<strong><i>This means, that sometimes we must battle to become ONE.<\/i><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">Satan uses adultery,\u00a0fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,<sup>\u00a0<\/sup>idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish<b><i> <\/i><\/b>ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders,\u00a0drunkenness, and revelries<b><i> <\/i><\/b>to divide and separate us from our Heavenly Father (Galatians 5:19-21).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">But, God created a list of tools to fend off these attacks: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control (Galatians 5:22-26).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">There are times where we have to hold up our swords to protect our joy and peace.\u00a0 As Lisa says:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">\u201cYou don\u2019t set up camp in hell\u2026you journey through it.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">All of a sudden, <b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Christi<\/span><\/b>, jumped to her feet.\u00a0 Ladies, I feel on <em><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">FIRE<\/span><\/strong><\/em> tonight! God WANTS you to hear this!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Never be afraid to enter the enemy&#8217;s camp and take back what he has stolen from you!! God has already won this battle, and He will restore the years the locusts has eaten!!! Do not fear! We serve a <strong>Mighty<\/strong> God!!! He will never ask you to stand for something if He thought you were not able to!<\/p>\n<p>Enter the enemy&#8217;s camp, get mad, put the enemy under your feet, and take back what he has stolen from you!! It is yours!! Stomp on his head and tell him NO!!!! <em><strong>No more satan!!!! You are defeated!!!<\/strong><\/em> You have not won this battle, God has, and I am standing with my God with the sword in my hand, and I send you back to the pit of hell where you belong!!<\/p>\n<p>Ladies, please get this!!!! You have <em><strong>ALL<\/strong><\/em> authority, not just some authority, but <strong>ALL <\/strong>authority\u00a0over the enemy!!! Don&#8217;t let him lie to you any longer and tell you that you are defeated!!! You are not!! You have victory in the name of JESUS!! Please get that!!! Take your marriage back, your rebellious children back, your health back!! Stand in victory with your sword in hand, and dance on the enemy&#8217;s head!!!<\/p>\n<p>Oh baby, I\u2019m preaching myself happy!!! Dance with me on satan&#8217;s head tonight!! I stand with you as you take back what he has stolen from you&#8230;what is rightfully yours!!!!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">I (Martha) am a very conservative person, but something got a hold of me! I heard myself saying:\u00a0\u201c<i>Preach it, Sister Christi, preach it<\/i>!\u00a0 <i>Come on ladies, let\u2019s dance<\/i>.\u201d\u00a0 And with that, such dancing like you never witnessed went on around that campfire as we danced on satan\u2019s head, and took back what he stole from us. \u00a0They all began to sing &#8220;Look What the Lord Has Done&#8221;: \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mTmFlirolug?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Diane<\/span><\/b> finished the chapter with her personal testimony.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">I would like to focus on the following TRUTH.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (<strong>Ephesians 6:12).<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">This reminds me of my past. At one point in my life it was easy for me to blame the someone who robbed me\u00a0of my innocence and even easier for me to blame myself. I learned that the roots of my problems were not people or my own thoughts; they were the lies Satan was feeding me.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (<strong>John 10:10)<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">Jesus has come so that <strong><i><span style=\"color: #000000;\">WE MAY HAVE ABUNDANT LIFE<\/span><\/i><\/strong>.\u00a0 Satan will try to bring back the pain and memories of people who hurt you. \u00a0<strong><i><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">BUT<\/span><\/i><\/strong><b> &#8212;<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">The more you grow in your relationship with God, <\/span><\/span><\/b><b><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">the stronger defense you will have against Satan.<\/span><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">And so it was &#8211; -Diane, through her own experience, had been able to join Jennifer, Teresa, and Tonya in answering the questions:\u00a0 \u201cWhere is the Battle?\u201d and \u201cWho is my Enemy?\u201d\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman; color: #000000; font-size: medium;\">Women lingered by the bonfire and continued to worship the Lord.\u00a0 The sounds of other campers filtered in and, what\u2019s that other sound I hear?\u00a0 Could it be Heaven\u2019s Angelic Choir joining us in Praise and Worship?\u00a0 (Breath-taking.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">*****<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\"><b>Let\u2019s Pray:\u00a0 <\/b><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Father God, we are so grateful that You have taught us where our battles are and who the real enemy is.\u00a0 May we realize Your Word equips us for this battle.\u00a0 You and You alone are our strength, our shield, our strong tower.\u00a0 In Jesus\u2019 name, I pray.\u00a0 Amen.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;\">*****<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman;
