{"id":1115,"date":"2012-08-15T06:00:09","date_gmt":"2012-08-15T11:00:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/?p=1115"},"modified":"2013-01-24T17:53:49","modified_gmt":"2013-01-24T22:53:49","slug":"the-resolution-for-women-all-clear-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/girlfriendscoffeehour.com\/wordpress\/2012\/08\/15\/the-resolution-for-women-all-clear-2\/","title":{"rendered":"The Resolution for Women:  All Clear"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/h1>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Jeremiah 31: 34<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8220;<em><strong>I will forgive their wrongdoing and never again remember their sin.&#8221;<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">___________________________<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Don&#8217;t you wish\u00a0 forgiveness was as easy as Priscilla describes in today&#8217;s chapter, using the &#8220;Delete&#8221; button?\u00a0 I mean look at the Hatfield&#8217;s\u00a0and McCoy&#8217;s!\u00a0 Perhaps if\u00a0only one of them had used the &#8216;Delete&#8217; button years and years ago, the incredible family feud that has gone on for so many years, taking many lives, would have been long over &#8211; instead they have made history over a lifetime of unforgiveness.\u00a0 In scripture it tells us the following ~<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>\u00a0&#8220;Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>Ephesians 4:32<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Being around someone you don&#8217;t like and being kind is one thing; however,\u00a0 forgiveness has to be\u00a0the hardest pill for us to swallow.\u00a0 &#8220;Excuse me Lord, you want me to forgive <strong><em>Her<\/em><\/strong>&#8220;?\u00a0 [emphasis]\u00a0 How many of us have asked that question over and over with various people in our lives.\u00a0 It&#8217;s so much easier\u00a0for us to just ignore people &#8211; stop associating with them &#8211; or chalking them off in our lives rather than doing as Jesus\u00a0would and forgiving them.\u00a0 \u00a0It&#8217;s built into our flesh &#8211; it&#8217;s human &#8211; there is no &#8220;delete&#8221; button.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">How many of you have someone in your life that you need to forgive?\u00a0 How many have a dark cloud hanging over your head because this issue is not resolved?\u00a0Doesn&#8217;t it truly keep cropping up? Perhaps you miss a family function because of this or you actually find yourself missing this person you&#8217;ve chosen not to forgive~ both situations very irritating, keeps the wound festering even long after the\u00a0event.\u00a0 Unfortunately, we cannot seem to hit that &#8220;delete button&#8221;\u00a0to free them and to free us.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Well, it&#8217;s time to hit the &#8220;delete&#8221; button.\u00a0 Scripture makes it clear.\u00a0 Jesus has made it clear.\u00a0 Do not let one more day go by without reaching way deep down inside of your heart to forgive to, lift\u00a0the burden this carries on your life.\u00a0 Not only will you feel better yourself mentally and physically, but you will be following the desires of God&#8217;s heart.\u00a0 THIS is worth it all by itself!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">So,\u00a0 if forgiving others is tough, what about the need to forgive yourself?\u00a0 Well, that&#8217;s a whole different story, huh!?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The following story is true and it breaks my heart to tell it; however, it&#8217;s a story that truly screams out forgiveness in every sense of the word so I need to share it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I have a friend and\u00a0 when he was away one day, his oldest son was riding his bike outside and fell; his\u00a0mother ran out the door to rescue him.\u00a0 Unfortunately, while mom was outside with her injured son, his 2-year-old brother went through an opened sliding glass door and into the pool drowning.\u00a0\u00a0Horrifying, right?\u00a0 RIGHT!\u00a0 Can\u00a0 you absolutely imagine the pain of this mother?\u00a0 Do you think she has forgiven herself today?\u00a0\u00a0 The true answer is, I honestly do not know for sure.\u00a0 Her mistake cost her son&#8217;s life ~ that is a level of forgiveness I cannot even imagine having in this situation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">And, what about this little guy&#8217;s father?\u00a0 This baby boy was the apple of his eye, his heart &#8211; and now he was gone due to an accident caused by a simple mistake.\u00a0 An open door.\u00a0 And he wasn&#8217;t there to protect him.\u00a0 He couldn&#8217;t save him. Outside of not being able to forgive himself, what about forgiveness for his wife?\u00a0 The wife who left the door open that his baby went through The turmoil that must have (and\u00a0likely still does)\u00a0cause him agony.\u00a0How does one dig that deep?<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the GREAT part.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s the part we need to get and understand&#8230;..Priscilla says, &#8220;No human forgiveness is strong enough, not even your own, to ever free you from the torturous remainder of your offense and the cloak of guilt in it lays on your shoulders&#8221;\u00a0 &#8211; did you hear that\u00a0 NO HUMAN FORGIVENESS IS ENOUGH\u00a0.\u00a0 There is only one way to lift that black cloud, to free yourself from the bondage and years of suffering and that is to accept the gift that Jesus Christ has given us &#8211; the gift of freedom &#8211; freedom from our sins.\u00a0 He forgives US &#8211; we in turn need to forgive others.<\/p>\n<p>Priscilla says it best when she says, &#8216;He felt the crown of thorns pressed onto His head.\u00a0 He took the beating&#8230;&#8230;..He hung on Golgotha&#8217;s tree.\u00a0 That&#8217;s when you received all the forgiveness you&#8217;ll ever need.\u00a0 When he cried, &#8216;It is finished!&#8217;.\u00a0 It was done.&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0 &#8211; The &#8216;DELETE&#8217; button pressed.\u00a0 For us.\u00a0 For each and every one of us.<\/p>\n<p>Do not let another day go by without forgiving yourself or someone else.\u00a0 Press your Delete button today. Jesus did.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em><strong>Your Assignment: <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">Describe in your own words the differences\u00a0and connections between forgiving yourself and receiving\u00a0God&#8217;s forgiveness.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">Choose one past action that you&#8217;ve held against yourself, and then prayerfully (INTENTIONALLY)\u00a0 consider the Lord&#8217;s payment for this sin.
